“Nice hotel, shame about the staff”

We chose this hotel as it is next to Coventry Speedway. It is a typical country house hotel with a good choice for breakfast. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was full but we were not disturbed by noise from other guests. Amazingly for a 3/4 star hotel there was no food available anywhere in the hotel for 3 hours in the afternoon. We would have given an excellent rating but the staff let the hotel down. They were professional but did not seemed bothered whether we enjoyed our stay or not.

Thank you for your feedback, and kind comments about our rooms and breakfast offering. Certainly disappionted to hear that you were unable to access meals at the hotel in the afternoon. We offer both hot & cold meals from 6:30am - 11pm, and some dishes 24hrs. We pride ourselves on our food service, and will be investigating why no food was available. Apologies for this service error. If you were to consider returning to the hotel, I am confident we would be able to meet your expectaions and ensure you have a fantastic experience with us.

“Out of control”

Exceptionally busy with wedding guests spilling out of hotel into grounds, overwhelmed staff. Trouble finding resident parking Disastrous checking in/out experience, queued to check-in amongst party melee happening in reception area, wrong guest details. Room hot with no air conditioning and limited window movement, with heated towel rail on full. Staff need lessons on how to make up a bed after I had to re-fit sheets. Full credit to duty manager who was able to offer use of alternative room. Check-out disaster, again having to queue to check out. This seems to a recurring problems in other reviews that the management have not grasped. Receptionist had an attitude problem and was adamant that (expedia) booking was not fully paid and deceived me into paying a second time for the room. Subsequent avoidance, unreturned calls and e-mails, when I tried to resolve this the following day. Lousy TV reception and limited channels, appalling noisy room guests until early hours. No way was I going to risk eating here for fear of further disappointment. However, the friendly welcoming staff at excellent pool and facilities in separate building was the only redeeming feature. I could image that this is a good hotel and quiet location in its own grounds out of season, but unfortunately in my experience was under-staffed and out of control.
