“What a Disappointment Experience”
The check-in staff had to search a long time to confirm that I had booked a room--with Expedia. I booked a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room. I asked to be changed. The second room had no lights in the bathroom. I asked for the manager to accompany me to a new room, which did happen. At no point did anyone apologize for the poor room conditions and mistakes. The restaurant opened late for breakfast and there was no lighting in the section where I was seated by a surly and sleepy server. I had a coupon for the buffet, but the choice was poor. The specially cooked omelette was a happy exception--tasty. When I asked for orange juice, the server said that would cost an extra $3. I suggested that my coupon should cover that, and she said "why didn't you tell me you had a coupon?" The lobby was noisy and uncomfortable. In short, a real disappointment and not inexpensive. I expected basic service and more and received neither. I could not advise anyone to stay here. Unacceptable standards and poor service and really bad attitudes.
“Spring Break 2011”
We stayed at this hotel last year on our way from Michigan to Orange Beach, AL. Last year we hadn't made plans on where we were going to stay and were grateful to have found this place had rooms. That was enough to make us love the hotel but then we enjoyed excellent service and a wonderfully restful room. So when we made plans for this year's trip we knew to make reservations. We didn't even think twice about where we were going to stay. We knew it would be here. We stayed at the hotel both on the trip down and the return. Both times were excellent experiences. We will be sure to stay her on future trips.

“Great hotel”
I stayed at the Holiday Inn University Plaza with my family on 2 separate occasions recently and we were all very impressed. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, and the service and food in the restaurant was great. There was also a great bar where my husband and I could have a drink at night. The staff of the hotel were very friendly, whilst being extremely professional. Overall our stay was a wonderful experience . I would definitely recommend this hotel.
“1980's”
Lobby is beautiful Pool was nice Room was clean Televisions were from the 1980's Double Beds were made for 2 120lb people. Most hotels in this price range offer queen beds.
“Holiday Inn”
Was only there for a brief stay on a long car trip. Very adequate--walking distance for dinner. One problem--only one elevator was working and we were on the top floor. had to take stairs because the wait was so long.
“Nice Place to Stay”
The hotel was very nice. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The location was good and there is a nice bar & grill down the street called Double Dogs. You've got to try this place. I would definatley stay again.
