stayed here for a week and although the rooms are small (new York style) they were clean and comfortable with a great shower in marble.
The staff were the friendliest I have come across and were always there to help.
The room was a little small, but it was meticulously clean and well decorated. The bed was comfortable with 4 pillows and 2 throw pillows. The service from the staff could not have been better. They have a restaurant and bar on the premises, but the neighborhood was loaded with Chinese restaurants and Little Italy was only 2 blocks away. The only odd thing about the room was the frosted glass wall between the shower and the open area of the room. It didn't make any difference to me because I was alone, but if someone had business associates or friends in their room, they may want to use the shower or the toilet without turning the light on. When my son used the bathroom before we went to dinner. His outline was clearly visible through the wall as he used the toilet. In summary, I would plan on staying here again on my next trip to New York.

I had certain reservations about staying in a hostel, but The Bowery House turned out to be a terrific choice...particularly when it came to my budget. The cabins are cozy and (surprisingly) quiet. As someone who is a terribly light sleeper, noise is always a concern...but I didn't have any problems sleeping through the night here. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The staff on duty was nothing short of terrific. And the rooftop was the perfect place to wind down after a day traipsing around the city.
Overall, I'd have to say that The Bowery House was one of the best places I've ever stayed in NYC and I look forward to a return visit in the near future.
I was hesitant to stay here because of bad reviews. Fortunately, the hotel exceeded all expectations. I paid $45/night, 1/6 the amount asked by other hotels in the city. The staff were always attentive and very mindful of keeping the hotel clean. The room was small and spartan, but that's all I needed. Community bathrooms put some people out, but I didn't mind. I will be back!
Beautiful hotel with the most amazing staff! GREAT LOCATION, staff are just so helpful and so nice from the concierge to the maintenance man and the cleaners, they are all just love,y and friendly. Anthony on the concierge desk was the best member of staff in any hotel we had stayed at and we have been travelling for 8 weeks,he was always so helpful and always attentive - we absolutely ADORED him!
