Hard to fault this hotel. Probably the best option in Bournemouth for quality, service, restaurant.

Gorgeous but no soundproofing!

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Very close to beach; gorgeous decor; spotlessly clean and superb breakfast. However, if you are coming to rest and sleep lots, this is not the place! Terrible soundproofing! We could hear music from room below and noisy chatter from restaurant 2 flights of stairs down! Luckily wasn't banking on early night on Saturday! Called for room service - bought up wine without glasses, which is minor mistake so not a prob to call and ask for glasses, but unfortunately it took 20 mins for someone to answer - wine glasses came half an hour after wine, which wasn't in ice. Very minor niggle but as it claims 'luxury' then needs to provide top notch service at all times.

Very nice stay overall

Posted 05-Jan-2015
Overall great. Comfy bed, goose down duvet a treat. Some minor niggles like having to ask to replace non working light bulb on arrival - I would expect these things to be checked as standard by housekeeping at this rate, broken coffee jar, need to call for milk when having a cup of tea - a mini fridge would be great. A relaxing stay, breakfast was fine if you're not in a hurry, although toast was cold. They were pretty busy so it may have sat around a while - keep an eye on your order too, twice I was delivered the wrong item by a sleepy server. Lovely mushrooms on toast - nice with a touch of cream. I noticed others querying where their coffee was after some time. Tried room service once, which was quick, very nice ham sandwich on bloomer although the drink was forgotten - was promised this would be removed from bill but it wasn't upon checking out, didn't bother querying it. Nice shower - rainforest, no bathtub in small double room. Nice quality towels and soap and shampoo provided. Good for 1-2 night stay as no drawers and limited storage in room. Relaxing decor. Lots of tv channels and handy having an iPod speaker dock. Easy enough access on foot for Bournemouth if you're moderately fit - it's a bit hilly coming up from the main centre but doesn't take long to walk. Taxi to train station about £5, also easily walkable in about 20 minutes.

Great hotel

Posted 05-Jan-2015
Pleasant place to stay, the staff team were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The room was spotlessly clean and we had a complimentary upgrade so a little larger than we booked. The hotel is very well presented with lots of attention to detail inside (and very close to BIC). My only grumble is that the rooms are not very soundproofed so we could hear other guests in their rooms i.e. talking on their phones, opening doors, people in the corridor and the cleaners in the morning, however I am not sure how this could be resolved. We would stay here again, for the price we felt it was very good value.

Classy hotel

Posted 29-Dec-2014
Pros: The friendly personal service, the restaurant and the decor.
Cons: Perhaps no gaps at the bottom of the bedroom doors to keep out any noise from other guests. no smoking at hotel entrance!
Location: Very close to the beach
Whilst many of the hotels on East Cliff need a face lift, this one certainly stands out. Very nice from the outside and stunning inside. The restaurant was fantastic. We had a light lunch on Christmas Eve which was superb as was the breakfast. The room was comfy, spacious and luxurious. The staff were extremely friendly and there was a personal touch to the service. It was quite noisy in our room but that is to be expected on Christmas Eve. Faultless.

Wonderful experience , hotel was lovely and clean , no noise nice and calm only thing I would say was I did email the hotel a few months before my stay for a few special requirements and they were met which was disappointing

Great hotel.

We were given a free upgrade as there was a Xmas party in the hotel. We were put in a room away from any noise which we greatly appreciated. The room was nicely decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. We found all the staff very helpful. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Bournemouth.
