“Good Find”
Great hotel within walking distance to shops and cafes.
“Wonderful”
The gardens are an amazing place for breakfast and relaxing. The room was extremely clean, comfortable, spacious and attractive. Staff was wonderful. we had dinner there on our first night and were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food and service. Easy walk into the town center. everything was wonderful!
“Beautiful gardens and pool area.”
Overall I would recommend this hotel. Front desk staff were helpful and spoke English. The rest of the staff ie: waiters, bartender, pool staff was not as good as the front desk staff, often unable to find and they did not speak English. The rooms and bathrooms are pretty spacious, nicely decorated, complimentary mini-bar (not refillable) and the grounds and pool are beautiful! They do have a car that can run you up to the town center but it's only a 10-15 minute walk anyway. I would stay there again.
“Generally a very nice hotel”
Two things struck us. It is a good 15 minute walk to get into the centre of town but you can drive and there is a large underground car park. Slight disappointment was the menu which was not only rather limited but did not vary one day to the next.
“Fantastic hotel, highly recommend”
Hotel Piggonet lives up to the hype! In a great location, we had a large and very comfortable room. We had dinner on our first night, the starter and dessert were fantastic, the main (lobster) was a little disappointing and very expensive but the service was wonderful and this didn't spoil the evening. The staff were very helpful, providing us with an excellent recommendation for a local restaurant (les deux freres) and directions. We had a fantastic few days and hope to return one day soon.
“Very French”
Lovely hotel with helpful service. Quiet room and tasteful decor. Very pleasant.
“Heavenly Hotel”
hotel is a 10 minute walk to central Aix and the cours mirabeau but do not let that deter you. The walk is pleasant and Le Pigonnet is more than worth it.
“An excellent choice -- with qualifications”
Le Pigonnet is a classy, mid-sized hotel with a beautiful garden located about a mile from the fountain that defines the entry point to downtown Aix. Our room was small but clean and had a beautiful view of the hotel's lovely garden. Service and support were excellent ... at the hotel itself. Two qualifications. First, as noted above the hotel is a walk from Centre Ville. Not a problem for us, but one you need to bear in mind. Second, the restaurant , although beautifully situated overlooking and in the garden, was pricy, which would not have been a problem except that it was understaffed and the staff was very young. A much better place to eat, and only a five minute walk, was the excellent, trendy Le Deux Freres.
“Hotel in beautiful setting”
This hotel is on the edge of the main tourist area in Aix-en-Provence. The hotel's garden is very lovely. Just the place to recover from a hard day of sightseeing.
“Hotel Preteneous”
The hotel is impressive at first site, but the Staff seemed aloof. The garden is beautiful, but the room was small but decorated nicely. The lift is so small only one person and a bag can use it at a time. The nearest restaurant is a difficult 10 to 15 minute walk. Overall the hotel is nice, but overpriced.
