“Very central”
Close to the town centre
“Happy with the basics”
We stayed in the Hotel De Rome for 3 nights, very satisfied apart from the fact there was no tea/coffee facility, and the mini bar and the main bar come to that was lacking considerably and was annoyed that there was only French TV!! which I found odd as most people staying there I would assume were not French. Beds were comfy and clean, hot water, clean towels as you would expect. Location was great. An old French building/hotel but was good enough for our short stay. Don't think we would go back though mainly because of the above mentioned probs. But on the whole it was a pleasant stay
“knock it down & start all over from scratch”
On arrival: mini bar fridge not working & smelly. No clean sheets. Rotten timber frames & windows, smelly, noisy & awful market lane with nearby fishmonger. Centipede crawling in bathroom. No tea or coffee facilities. One day room was left untidy with bedspread & cushions & towels on chair or floor, full rubbish bag left in the bathroom sink. Manager did not even attempt to apologize. On the whole dirty old carpets, smelly & untidy. This hotel does not deserve a single star let alone 3. The only good thing is it's convenient location, just a short stroll into Vieux Port. This is a holiday from hell that I wish to forget. The staff good mannerism was oh so fake, robot like. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this hotel & I have travel the world, stayed in many places, but never ever been so disappointed, or had to write such a bad review.
“Stay away”
Hotel was very old and in poor condition. Elevator accessible from check-in counter which is one floor above ground floor. Even though elevator takes you up to your floor, you may still have to climb stairs on that floor to access room. Window in my room had rotting wood and did not seal. Radiator is not heat very well. Bathroom was remodeled but did not have shower stall in bath tub; a normal convenience now expected. On top of that, water pressure was comically poor and literally trickled out the spout. Included were only one bath towel and one hand towel. Very convenient to Vieux Port but through a rough neighborhood.
“Excellant location”
good clean hotel, good location, decor a bit dated but good value for money
Cordialement
“Litt under middels”
