“Not Impressed”
Not a good place to stay. Front desk asked me to pay 6 Euros to call for a taxis. I booked two nights but only stay for one night because the hotel was so bad.
“Tourist hotel with little customer service”
Customer service can improve, such as counter interaction with clients was very defensive and unfriendly. It made customers felt like bothering them. Change of winter time clock was not even mentioned although most are tourists staying in the hotel.
“Hot Box”
A few days prior to our arrival the entire hotel was set to a winter temperature with the air conditioning. A lot of guests complained but the staff could / would not help and suggested we open the window which we did as it was the only way to survive. We did not sleep well with security being upmost in our minds and the noise coming from the bars below went on all night. The TV reception was also extremely bad. Location - you could not ask for better
“Great location in the old port”
The hotel was reasonably priced given the area. We had seen reviews that service was poor but we had absolutely no problems, the room was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful.
“certainly not a four star hotel”
certainly does not deserve the four stars it claims to have, though the location is excellent , nothing else is, the airconditioning in the room did not work , the only room window opened on to a row of apartments across the street, with thier windows looking into our room . the staff , apart from those at the reception ,did not speak english . the room was far too small and basic, , if you ordered room service you were left eating on the bed with trays across the lap, no chairs sofa etc. bathroom was as basic as they come , I certainly would not recommend it to anyone else
“Poorest service I ever had”
This is my second time visiting the city of Marseille. In general, Grand Tonic hotel has a modern decor, room is spacious for a triple room and good location. The hotel staff during the day are very helpful. Everything seems positive until the night we were leaving the hotel. Since our flight is near mid-night BA flight, we kept our three pieces of hand lugguages at the front desk. By the time we came to collect them, we would like to get slightly changed in the hotel toilet before jumping on a taxi to the airport. The front desk man did not allow us to do so and suggested us to go to the changing room at the train station. We asked then one of us want to use the toilet indeed. He refused again and told us we WERE their guests and have checked out the room. He further said we were nothing to do with the hotel anymore. We insisted to just take out our jacket from the lugguage in the lobby as the night temperature was much cooler. He then said the hotel is not a market place. We were all very upset about his attitude and use of words. It sounds like talking to homeless people. I cannot believe such a bad experience is from a four-star hotel. I definitely would NOT recommend this Grand Tonic Hotel to anyone.
“Grand Tonic Hotel”
This is a good hotel located on Veiux-Port. The hotel was clean and comfortable with very freindly and helpful staff. I was allowed to use the internet in the hotel lobby to print out boarding cards for my onward journey and wasn't charged, which makes a welcome change frrom most other hotels I've stayed in. I would definately recommend this hotel.
“Vieux Port excellent location”
This hotel was easy to find, excellent location, and reliable staff (information and service). Cross the street to the Metro or to the fish market or to the variety of harbor side restaurants. Just a couple streets from the Opera House. La Panier walk or Old Vieux Port walks within 10 minutes and this location allows for easy access to other neighborhoods. Cross another street to a plaza with a dozen restaurants. Two key bus service stops within one street. The metro travels to central train station in two stops. A 5 minute walk across harbor-side to the start point of the city tour train. Bottom line - very convenient for the visitor to Marseille.
“OK”
Four stars were in the lower side
“very impressed”
no problem recomending this hotel, everything was excellen
