“Nice location”
This hotel was very near the T station and very convenient. The staff were friendly. It was not luxurious, but had everything I needed. I thought it was very nicely priced.
“Midtown”
needed a place to stay after a night out on boston - midtown was a perfect place for that!
“It really wasn't that bad!”
It's not the most glamorous or hip hotel, but it was totally fine. I thought the staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and it was certainly affordable.Plus, the location is pretty hard to beat.
“Only thing good about this place is the location”
...Location is good for downtown Boston. Thats it. This place is more like a no-tell-motel. Its outdated and shady. I can give the front desk credit (after being abrupt and a little rude when we arrived) for at least working with us to get the reservation straightened out (date issue) and providing us with a cot for our third person to sleep on. I booked it because a.) it seemed a lot different on my mobile app when I booked it on expedia and b.) it was the cheapest same day reservation I could make that night on our road trip vacation. We decided while staying at the mid town we were staying at a bigger franchise hotel with known quality the rest of the trip. In short, if you don't care about anything but location and a bed to sleep on for a little less, stay here. If your expectations are higher, don't.
“Acceptable. Good location.”
Location is pretty good. Hotel facility is not updated. However if you expect the hotel only staying, it's enough.
“Convenient location to NEC and Symphony Hall and to the T”
A "no frills" but pleasant hotel conveniently located to New England Conservatory and Symphony Hall. Convenient hotel parking behind the hotel. Inexpensive restaurants and coffee shops nearby on Huntington Avenue. Convenience is the operative word!
“Expensive, but good”
Very expensive for not much of a hotel.
“If all you want is a room...”
Located near Copley Square in Boston, the Midtown Hotel is well placed and convenient. It is located between the Symphony and Prudential stops on the T Green Line and a couple of blocks away from the Massachusetts Ave stop on the Orange Line, so getting around in the city is a breeze. The room was modern - in the 1960s. It had a flat panel TV and both wired and wireless internet were available (more on that later). The bed was comfortable, the room, bathroom and shower were all clean. There is parking on site, but it is at an additional cost. I had no problem with the hotel in general, but I was disappointed that internet access, both in the room and in the business area of the lobby were pay-as-you-go. For the amount of money that I paid for the room, the least that they could have done would be internet. As it was, I was unable to print out my boarding pass for the return flight without having to pay an additional amount to do so. I though that was kind of cheesy. I think that the few dollars that I saved on the room were not worth the extra annoyance. I think
“Small Room, Dingy Atmosphere”
I felt very uncomfortable with my stay. The room was relatively dark, the furnishings sparse. The hallways were cramped and dark and overall quality was very poor.
“You can't judge a book by it's cover”
This hotel could use some updating on the outside. At first glance was a bit dismayed, looked very 60's vintage , but inside the room was very nice, super clean, and very comfortable. They were in the midst of renovating the hallways, wallpaper, etc. in the building, and hopefully will continue on the outside as well. Great location, and a good deal for the price.
