“Good location, but needs a housekeeper”

Great location and we enjoyed the overall experience, but with the dark carpets and floors, they really need a housekeeping service that can (or will) vacuum and mop floors and dust furniture. And we never did understand their satellite TV. The inn info listed about 200 channels, of which they actually get only about 10. There was nothing that would keep me from going back or recommending it, however, based on the great location and cool neighborhood vibe. A good experience and value overall that can be even better with a little management attention to just a few details.

“Dreamy pied-a-terre in central Boston”

Very pretty, pleasant staff, clean, and a five-star location. Also, I was surprised to find a kitchenette in my single room; this place seems perfect for extended stay travelers. I hope to return (with my girlfriend and daughter) for a long weekend to visit Boston.

Area recommendations
The Back Bay neighborhood immediately surrounding the hotel is a pleasant shopping district. A ten minute walk gets you to Downtown Crossing or Chinatown, a bit more gritty but still interesting.
Getting there
Walking distance from the Amtrak Back Bay station, so you can avoid airport security if traveling from NYC!

“Very poor customer service”

Our hotel room had been damaged by water and was uninhabitable. The Hotel had booked us a room in another hotel as a substitute. The other hotel was in a very different location and the quality of the new hotel was much less than the one we had initially booked with. We were assured the hotel management would deal with us after the fact. Management did not return two messages, and was generally difficult to get in touch with. When I finally did get them on the phone, the manager informed me there was nothing he could do to fix our problem. Thankfully, Expedia was able to get us all of our money back. The Inn at St Botolph might be nice, but I wouldn't know, as we didn't get a chance to stay there. I can tell you, however, that the hotel management is not nice. The manager was rude, unhelpful, and in general, not available. I do not think one should be in the hotel business without being able to provide assistance to customers more than a few hours a day a couple of days a week. I certainly do not think it is appropriate to ignore messages left seeking a return call. We will never book a room at the Inn at St. Botolph again.

“My one and only favorite Boston hotel”

This hotel couldn't have been more perfect. It was literally a block from the nearest subway station (Prudential) and the keyless access was very convenient. The suite was stylish and comfortable. I really liked that there was a kitchen, so I was able to shop at Whole Foods nearby and cook all my meals for the week. Next time I'm in Boston, I will definitely be staying there.

“Loved it!”

We loved our stay at the Inn at St. Botolph. The only draw back was the lack of parking. Most of the street parking is strictly for 'residents only' and the garages were quite expensive. We would definitely go back though.

“Be sure to call or get there before 10 PM”

The hotel is clean and rooms are nice with kitchen. Bring your snacks or food becuase there isn't any food availble in the hotel. We really liked the place...very quite and slept well. It was a little pricey but the location is great for the city...walking distance to a lot of attractions.

Traveller's tip
There isn't a night clerk availble so you will need to call and get an access code to enter the building if you can't get there before 10. You also you the access code to enter your room. The building isn't well marked so you have to read the street and building address. Otherwise, the hotel is clean and rooms are nice with kitchen. Bring your snacks or food becuase there isn't any food availble in the hotel. We really liked the place...very quite and slept well.
