Came for jeter's last game. The price was relatively high for how tiny the room was. We were given an upgrade for two double beds instead of one queen, which was very nice, but still think the room was overpriced.

Good location but poor hotel

Old hotel that needs money spent on it. Bed next to door with chain unable to fasten across door for security. Poor privacy.

'Tired' hotel, grumpy staff but comfy bed!

Posted 28-Sep-2014
Pros: The beds were comfy, the shower was good and it was a good central location to explore boston. The adjoining restaurants were both very good.
Cons: Friendlier staff, warnings about construction for choice of changing hotels.
Location: It is a great central location just near Boston common. Everything Central is within walking distance and the local restaurants are superb.
On entering the hotel the decor looks lovely. The first receptionist we encountered was quite miserable and automous thou. The 1st room was clean but had had too many coats of paint and looked quite tired. Being jet lagged we were shattered and disappointed to broken up by builders renovating a room next door at 7am. We complained to the staff who said to return after 1pm to see if we could be moved. We were moved to 2nd room which did not have a bath so were then given a 3rd room and upgrade. The room was lovely and more like the standard I would expect for the price paid. Unfortunately in this room there was a constant noise of a generator which continued all night and made it near impossible to sleep. This was on the roof for the construction workers. We complained again and had to return after 1pm to see about moving. We were given 50 dollars credit towards food as an apology but were shattered. That morning there was no hot water to add insult to injury! We were later moved to the 4th room in 3 days which was a smaller room but was not near the construction and had a bath. One night however we lost all power in the room and called maintenance. They called three times having not deleted the call once fixed the first time. We had the hotel breakfast which was well stocked each morning although slightly expensive. On the whole the staff were not welcoming or understanding or friendly. The standard rooms are over priced, the construction works were noisy and an interference.

Amazing Hotel

Posted 27-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything!!
Cons: Housekeeping staff weren't very pleasant.
Location: Excellent mid city location near Copley Square, which has great shops, pubs, restaurant's etc.
They upgraded us before check-in and the upgrade room was amazing. Entire hotel was a great experience!!

Good location but way overpriced

Posted 25-Sep-2014
The hotel lobby is like a convention center. No personality to the employees. The room is WAY WAY small an outdated. Had paint peeling off the ceiling, the bathroom was EXTREMELY small with the shower barely fitting one person! The rooms are VERY small and for the one night price tag we paid I was very dissapointed. And the valet services are $50 a night!!!! Ridiculous.

Fantastic staff and facilities

We were impressed from the moment we stepped out of our car and our bags were taken care of, I know this is nothing out if the ordinary but lately across the USA we have found people uninviting and unhelpful but not at this hotel. Everyone was lovely we felt really taken care of and our room was sensational, the breakfast buffet delicious and alot of choice. Loved it here will definitely return when next we visit Boston!

Hotel was under construction and was smelly, wildly loud throughout the entire evening, and the elevators were running at a snails pace throughout the day. Price reflected the construction price discount, but buyer beware, a fresh nights sleep is not in the cards at the Plaza Hotel!

Good location, smallest rooms ever!

Posted 24-Sep-2014
I have visited Boston for business. Stayed at the Boston Plaza Hotel for 1 night. Although the location is good, you will see the smallest bathroom and the room as well. You cannot even take a shower in 1m square tub. Dont even try to turn around in the bathroom, 'cause u cant! There is no safe in the rooms. The position of TV makes you unavailable to watch. Great channels though. There is no small fridge in the room. And there is no bottle of water (not even with a surcharge)! I am not staying here once again for that price too!

Hotel Needs to be Refurbished, Cleaned and Updated

Posted 23-Sep-2014
Pros: Downtown
Cons: The hotel needs to be 1) refurbished to modern standards, 2) include internet in the price, 3) be maintained / cleaned
Location: The hotel is proximate to everything historical in downtown Boston!
For an expensive downtown hotel, this was a very disappointing experience. The room was dirty - dirt was noticeable in the wall and door trim in the bathroom. The room was not well maintained. Repairs to the wall and trim were made in a very haphazard way and looked terrible. The door to the room did not fit the door jam and would stick so much so you had to push / pull with much force. The heat in the room did no work (we did not report this because we did not need it after the first night, and the hotel staff did not ask me about our stay when we checked out). There was a fire alarm one night at approximately 2:00am. The alarm only sounded in the hallway and not in our room. I could barely make out the announcement from the hallway through the room to the door, and then only had a vague idea that there was an emergency and we needed to evacuate. As a heavy sleeper, it was hard to believe that the alarm does not go off in the room too. Their announcements that the alarm was over did come over a speaker in the room. The price for internet in the room was $12.95/night - in today's day and age, you've got to be kidding and at $286.20/night you would think that internet would be included. Additionally, though we did not use it, parking in the hotel was $48.00/day. Save your money and stay out away from downtown and take the subway or a taxi in - it will be cheeper and a much nicer stay!!!

Please accept my sincerest apologies for your negative experience with us. This is not reflective of our service standards and it is quite troubling to read we failed to meet your expectations. While you were with us, you may have noticed that we are in the process of a complete overhaul and as part of the renovation, the lobby, guest rooms, as well as all of the exterior and interior of the hotel will be updated. I hope you will give Boston Park Plaza another try on your next visit to Boston so you can see our many changes. Best regards, June McDougall Managing Director
