“Great hotel - one minor thing though...”
I made a local call for about two minutes and was charged over $11! When I queried it they said "yes, our call charges are expensive". Lesson learned. I would go back but would use my mobile in future! Hotel is in great position and Arlington T stop is a minutes walk
“Excellent hotel at a great price”
Excellent service. Great location and really nice room. The hotel is located right across the street from Boston Gardens and Boston Common. The theatre district is one block away and Copley Square is just a few blocks away. The hotel is surrounded by several great resteraunts and access to lots of shopping. I took the train to the Back Bay station and the hotel is just 3 blocks away. My stay was very positive and the price was very reasonable.
“Lovely place, enjoyed my stay there.”
Was a lovely and clean place. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. Located near many good restaurants and the common. Not far from many enjoyable things. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all friends and family.
“our place to stay in Boston”
My husband and I travel to Boston 6-9 times a year for either business or pleasure. We have been staying at this hotel for the past few years. It is located in a great neighborhood and very clean and safe. Expedia always has great deals and we are very happy.
“Great value in Copley Sq”
I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable beds, the deep tub and fresh white bedding. My room was spacious and warm on a cold night. Great value for the money!
“Charming Classic Hotel”
This was the last hotel that the legendary democratic hotelier Statler built, and I know that because of a charming documentary that was on the TV in my room when I turned it on. It was so engaging that I could not turn anything else on before I nodded off to sleep in the exceedingly clean and comfy bed. This place is not highly modernized and corporate and soulless like most modern hotels. It has signs of its storied past and a unique character, including adorable doors with stenciled swans. I hate chains and the feeling of every hotel looking alike. A couple of shortcomings to me: no fridge in my room, which had been upgraded from the one I paid for on Expedia. I guess the great view and extra bed were in the upgrade, but I would have preferred a fridge. The cost of wi-fi was prohibitive for my brief stay = $12.50/24 hours, so I opted out, but that was OK, since I happened upon the aforementioned doc about the hotel history. This place was affordable, centrally located, friendly, comfortable and clean, with a very kind and efficient staff, and a pleasant surprise to me.
“A decent hotel at good location.”
Pretty nice but old hotel. For its location, it's pretty nice. Room that I stayed is small and facilities are old but clean, typical old Boston hotel.
“Beautiful and confortable!!”
Stayed in the kenmore suite!! It was absolutely stunning!!
“One dead shirt”
The iron provide had wax on it and it ruined my shirt.
“Hotel for Shows in Theatre District”
Great and often inexpensive option to spend the night in Boston when seeing a show at nearby theatre district or shopping on Newbury. It is also close to Boston Common + Public Garden. Plenty of fine dining within walking distance. It is an older "grand" or historic hotel so, if you are into that, you will really like this place.
