“Oasis Review”
Great hotel. Rooms are tiny, but location is prime and the price is reasonable.
“You can't expect all amenities at an Oasis”
Well located and clean, the managers were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is however dated and in need of upgrades especially in the rooms, particularly carpeting.
“Great place for a low-maintenance traveler”
I actually stayed at the Adams Bed & Breakfast, which is owned by the same people who own Oasis. My stay was pleasant. The pros: convenient GREAT price clean friendly, helpful staff The cons (but maybe just for me): some street noise breakfast not put out until 8 AM no elevator (I was on the third floor and I had a heavy bag) Also, just a note particularly to business travelers, there are no ironing boards or hair dryers in the room but they are avaliable in a common area of the house. Also, the TV only broadcast a handful of channels, if that's important to you. I would definitely stay here again. Despite there being no elevator I would suggest an upper floor room again because of the street noise which, I should mention, dissipated by 11-ish.
“Not great”
I was disappointed after reading good reports. The hotel is made up of several terraced houses and has seen better days. The room was small but adequate, but it was decorated a long time ago. Getting into reception meant carrying suitcases up three steps and ringing a bell, for some reason reception behind the door had to be locked away. Parking was a nightmare, in a narrow lane behind the hotel full of fire escapes and rubbish bins and cost $20. The lane also backed onto a Chinese restaurant noisily blowing strong cooking smells all night straight at our window. The breakfast had to be eaten out of armchairs in the lounge, there was no dining room. The hotel is only rated two star, so we weren't expecting much, but we wouldn't go again.
“very nice hotel”
It is a very nice hotel, close to most places. The front desk was very helpful and very polite. The room was a little small but since we were out all day, it was not a problem.
“Great guest house in a great city”
A small but delightful guest house in the Back Bay area of Boston. Easy to get to by subway and conveniently located for Fenway Park and Newbury Street (for places to eat). Lovely and clean with friendly proprietors who made us feel very welcome and at home. Would definitely use again.
“A cozy Brownstone”
Oasis sits on a quiet side street just off Mass Ave. with easy access to the T (subway). Restaurants, museums and Fenway Ball park are a short walk away. Narrow winding staircases, and a comfortable and inviting lobby make this a real charmer. Hotel staff could not be more pleasant and helpful. The room bathroom was small with a very small shower stall but anyone wanting a more luxurious tub and shower could use a large common bathroom in the hallway. The somewhat Victorian atmosphere may not excite children but was a very welcome and soothing hideaway during my otherwise hectic business trip. The Continental breakfast was good but the coffee was truely great. Overall, a great bargain and pleasant experience.
“Ready to go back!”
We were greeted by a wonderful gentleman at the front desk who was expecting us and was able to take care of all of our unique needs. We were in for just a weekend, and wanted to just leave our luggage in the morning before checkin. Instead, we were able to check in early and have a great conversation about the best things to do in the area. If you are looking for a traditional hotel, this is not the place for you. But, it's just a small step down from a bed and breakfast. It had everything my friend and I needed for the weekend, and none of the extras that are silly to pay for. There are few frills - but you get a basic breakfast, and a clean room/bathroom to use. Add up the free Wi-Fi, food, etc. and you are already saving a lot of money. Add in that the neighborhood is two blocks from the subway and among a calm college campus - you found a winner. My only complaint is that the toilet paper was only one-ply!
“Location location location!”
We were extremely happy with our choice to stay at the Oasis guesthouse! Not only is the price unbeatable for downtown Boston, but it's exceptionally convenient to the Metro, Fenway Park, and the super-posh Back Bay. The rooms are small, but that's to be expected in a big city. It was clean, comfortable, and we noticed there was a kitchenette and refrigerator on the first floor-- we had no need to use it, but definitely a plus if traveling with children. Will definitely stay there every time we return to Beantown!
“I'd go again”
The room was small but just what we needed, and in a great location.
