This 22-story Boston hotel has 498 guestrooms, located on floors 6 through 22 and offering city views. Rooms were refurbished in a contemporary style in late 2004. Updated amenities include wireless Internet access (surcharge), CD players, and 27-inch flat-screen TVs with video games (surcharge), premium cable channels, and pay movies.

Beds are outfitted with triple sheeting, down comforters, and down pillows. Desks have ergonomic upholstered chairs. Rooms also include minibars, upholstered armchairs, and bathrobes.

“Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone - would go back to this hotel on next visit.”

A very pleasant stay in the hotel - the staff were very pleasant indeed and we can honestly say that this was the best hotel we have stayed in Boston and we've stayed in quite a few. The concierge, Anthony, was very pleasant and we enjoyed our discussions with him regarding his favourite British football team, Manchester United. It made our stay very enjoyable indeed.

Area recommendations

I think the whole of Boston is a lovely city, with lots to do and see. We enjoy it so much because it's a walkable city. The only area which makes the city look a bit derelict is where Feline's Department store stood many years ago - we were in the city two years ago and nothing has changed since then. It makes that part of the city look very unpleasant.

“It was an OK stay.”

Chose this hotel, partly for the location being fairly central of the city and partly based on the reputation of Hyatt chain. Check in was adequate, it didn't seem as though they were ready, though it was mid afternoon when we arrived. The special requests I made prioir to arrivng were never accomodated. The entire staff were very friendly and helpful. The appearance and condition of the hotel was very good. Had a couple of drinks at the bar and all 3 bartenders were very good. Did not eat at the resturant, so have no rating for that. Made a couple of requests for extra towels and coffee packets to be left by housekeeping......never done. Bathroom amenities not always left by housekeeping, so it was a good thing we brought our own personal items. All in all, it was a good stay, not alot to complain about. Just expected more based on the name and room rate.

Area recommendations

I would recommend staying in the Back Bay area because the restuarants and shopping is more abundant. Or I would recommend staying in the Cambridge area for much of the same reason.

Getting around

Getting around Boston is the easiest city I have ever traveled. Many options of transportation, however most of it can be walked easily.

What to pack

Went in November, so it was chilly during the day and slightly cold at night. Layering seemed to work better for us.

Must see

Buy a 3 day pass for the Super Upper Deck Tours. Will take you to 21 historical sites/stops as many times as you would like to see them all 3 days. This tour allows you to get on and off as much and as long as you would like as well. Fenway Park. The Trinity Church. Harvard. USS Constitution. The Old North Church.....etc.etc. etc.

Shopping

Faneuil Hall Market and in Cambridge.

Dining

Everywhere!!!! But if you love Italian....anything on Hanover St. is a must.

“Spotlessly clean”

The hotel was very clean and surprisingly bright (at least on the 19th floor). The king sized bed was very comfortable. I have no complaints about this hotel.

“Not bad, good location”

Overall, the hotel was nice. However, I felt "nickle and dimed" for every possible service. The hotel was in a good, central location.

“Very enjoyable stay”

This hotel is very well situated, within walking distance of many places of interest. All the staff were very helpful, and the room was spotlessly clean. We hadn't intended to use the hotel restaurant, preferring usually to try different places to eat, but due to heavy rain one evening we ate in the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices, although drinks were fairly expensive, as usual in this type of hotel. Can't really think of any criticisms at all.
