“Outstanding”
I'm a BU parent and could not be better Hotel for me.Service is excellent.rooms are great and even the small gym has great equipment. Can't wait to go again...
“Great location, great beds!”
Right at the Commonwealth exit off of the green line on the T (Boston's subway system). Located right by Fenway and Boston University. Very close to park and gardens. Short walk to art museums. Great range in dining choices nearby, from the standard fast food to nice restaurants, as well as places to buy snacks and beverages to take to your room. Didn't have or need a car! Concierge was very helpful with directions and suggested alternative things to do and how to get there. My stay was off-season for Fenway, but there was still a lot of people out and about at all times. As a single female traveler, I felt safe walking in the area, even at night. And even though it was busy, I heard little street noise when inside the hotel. Room was spacious, with the bed separated from the desk/lounge area by curtains. Large desk with good lighting that you can comfortable work or eat at. 2 tv's one in lounge area and one to watch while in bed. Bed was very comfortable, lots of fluffy pillows and duvet. There was an in-room safe and fully stocked refrigerator. Bathroom was mainly marble. Large shower-head, good water pressure and no shortage of hot water. Nice towels. A couple things were not so good. It was expensive, considering the time of year. You need to use the bellman to bring your bags in -- you walk up a flight of stairs to get to the lobby. And the length of cord on the hair dryer was so short that I couldn't use it to style my hair.
“convinient to transportation”
Good, clean accessible accomodations, near Boston university and the T
“Great Hotel!!”
We were just staying the night to see a concert and wanted a hotel near the venue. Though a bit pricey it is well worth the cost. The location is perfect, walking distance to Fenway, Lansdowne St., BU, next to the T. The personnel were super friendly and helpful. Valet parking is also pricey, but it was so nice to be able to drive up and not have to worry about parking in Boston. The hotel and the room were immaculate. The rooms were really quiet. You couldn't hear the traffic at all. The temp control in the room was great. The bed was super comfortable. I don't write reviews often, but I love this hotel!!
“Home away from home”
This hotel has everything, a home away from home. The rooms are beautiful and clean great to come back to after a day of sightseeing. The staff are fantastic nothing is ever too much for them . Will stay there again.
“Very Impressed”
This hotel was one of the best I had ever stayed in Boston. Great location in Kenmore Square, short walk to Comm Ave or 'T' ride to the city, room was very clean, curtious staff and great bar and restaurant in the building. Loved it and already thinking about staying there for my next visit.
“Close to Fenway”
Very impressed with the accommondation, staff very helpful. Just out side the subway at Kenmore, very convenient to everything hotel is in walking distanance to many attractions Fenway, The Prudential. Would stay here again when ivisiting n the city.
“Very Useful Hotel in Boston Mass”
The Commonwealth was quiet, well appointed and, from our point of view, well situated. It is 15 to 20 minutes walk to the Prudential Center and Copley Square - but right next door to Kenmore underground (the "T"). Less than 30 minutes by cab from Logan Airport. The hotel staff were pleasant and friendly and the concierge excellent. We thought our Expedia rate gave excellent value - but we upgraded to a mini-suite on our arrival for a highly competitive rate. Our one gripe was that - after one very pleasant breakfast - we had a bad experience with a less than pleasant waitress and then some watery poached eggs at Eastern Standard the main restaurant. But Boston is full of good eating places. Good air conditioning, very comfortable bed and bedding. nice bathroom with small bath but powerful shower. Good TVs, free internet and very quiet room.
“Fun, lively neighborhood.”
This hotel is next to the ball park so there are many fun bars and cafes to walk to. The hotel is associated with a fine dining restaurant Eastern Standard, and you can get room service from that restaurant. I particularly loved the building because it felt like one of the charming brick neighborhood apartment buildings rather than a hotel. At the same time, the decor is very new and modern. Plus, the heating and cooling system worked perfectly and did not make a lot of noise. That is a big issue with me. I travel alone a lot. I was alone on this trip and would recommend it for a single traveler. I would also return here, if I had to set up a conference in Boston. It was an excellent hotel and although not cheap, certainly not over the top.
“best hotel near Fenway”
Great location for the ball field. An easy 5 min walk to the game and great bar on site. Right outside the door is the subway stop to get to the north shore or down town.
