Finding parking in Salem is not easy. This property has a large, safe lot directly behind it with easy access. The room was very large. Restaurant offered great breakfast options. I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel.

Small and cozy room but had everything we needed. Check in and front desk worker was top notch. Can’t beat the location and proximity to the town. Fantastic bar and restaurant. Would definitely recommend and return.

The Hawthorne was the perfect place for our family to stay. We could walk everywhere from our hotel. Tons of sights, shopping, and dining options. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. Coffee, cider, water, and lemonade available in the lobby brought the day was a nice touch. This is such a beautiful hotel nestled amongst the rich history of Salem. We look forward to staying here again.

The rooms are very small & there was absolutely no room to turn around in the bathroom. The heating/cooling system did not work. I hope the maintenance team works on getting rid of the mold in the shower

Hotel is very nice and clean , however , we had a horrible Stay. The heating system is broken so even though we Set the temperature to low the heat was blasting in our room all night. They told us on check in that the system was not working properly but failed to tell us that you had to turn it off … our room temp Was 89 all night … this was after they brought a fan to our room and still didnt tell us to turn the system off … awake all night …. You would think a hotel of this size would fix an issue like this !!!

We loved our stay at the Hawthorne Hotel. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the location is perfect, and the vibe is immaculate. The one complaint I have is about room service - took over an hour to receive breakfast, and most of it was cold and the poached eggs were actually soft boiled eggs at that point. We will definitely return, but we will skip room service - just wanted our kids to experience it once.

The Hawthorne hotel is full of rich history. Although updated some original touches have remained, such as the old door handles on the bathroom door and closet door. This hotel offers options for food. The tavern had a friendly atmosphere and great food and service. Tours are easily accessible from here. Don't let the weather stop you from coming it is worth it.

It's a beautiful hotel with a lot of history. We really enjoyed our stay there. The staff was friendly, there were two large weddings happening there so we kind of felt that they overtook the space - which is fine we found plenty of things to do out in Salem! The staff did a great job handling a very busy weekend. Rooms were clean but there was some mildew under the tub train (which we went ahead and cleaned while we were there). It's very conveniently located, we were able to walk everywhere.
