“Great find...”

I was looking for a hotel that was fairly close to the House of Blues and Fenway and came across the Charlesmark. The hotel is in an old building but has been updated with a great modern feel. Stereo system in the room with built-in speakers was a nice touch. Location was perfect (across from the Boston Library and right next to a T station). Nice full bar in the lobby. I will definitely stay again...

“Nice Nook”

The Charlesmark is a small, boutique-ish hotel located in the Back Bay area on Boylston. It is literally across the street from the subway, and within a short walk to the Back Bay Amtrak station. The hotel rooms are small, but quite nicely appointed and very clean. The noise level depends on your neighbors, as the small size of the hotel makes it very dense. I like to stay there as I love the neighborhood, the restaurants and coffee shops etc. and it is handy to public transportation. I don't stay there when rates are high (relative to other hotels nearby) as the rooms are very small, but otherwise I find it to be very accomodating and handy.

“Having fun in Boston”

Great small,economical and centrally located boutique type hotel....only drawback is standard rooms too small....need to get Queen sized room!!!!

“Overpriced”

The Charlesmark was fine for one night. It was expensive for what you got and we stayed on a friday and it was very noisy from the bar down stairs. The room was very clean and very modern though. No safe in the room. Breakfast wasnt great. The hotel is fairly close to the citys attractions about 15 minute walk

“Great location”

Had a great time in Boston. The location of this hotel was ideal as it was convenient for seeing all the sights by either walking or catching the train. Would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Boston. Especially liked the modern design and style of the rooms and bar.

“Pleasant experience!”

It's a small but very nice hotel. The girls that greated us at the front desk were very nice and knowledgeable. One girl in particular was very sweet and gave us the direction to places we wanted to see. We bought the tour for "Old Trolley Tour" from them which was good for two days. We were able to chek in earlier than we supposed to, which was great because it was hot outside and with the bags we were carrying we didn't want to wait till 3 pm. The room in which we stayed was very small but clean, the shower area was nicely done. When we came in the AC was on and the classical music playing in the backgorund - which we thought was a nice touch. The breakfast was good, just what you usually eat on a busy morning hurrying to work. As the check out was at noon and our bus was scheduled to leave at 5 pm, the same sweet lady at the front desk allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel for no charge, so we could go back and get them in a few hours. And we did just that. Almost forgot to mentioned the great location of the hotel - everything you need and even more is closed by. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Glad we chose this hotel for our short stay in a great city of Boston.

Looking for good place to eat lunch? Try "Globe" right there on Boylston Street. Take the seats that are outside or close to the window and enjoy the view with the great food.

“Lovely hotel in Back Bay”

We really enjoyed our stay. They service was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The proximity of the Back Bay station is a real bonus for travelers without cars.

“Boston's friendliest hotel”

The Charlesmark had everything: a wonderful staff, prime location, and nice rooms. Sure the room was tiny but it was well-designed. it's a short walk to most sights and the T is down the street. plenty of places to eat and drink. Went to Joe's American Bar and grill on Newberry St. and found good food and friendly people.

“Very nice hotel in a great location.... but very noisy”

The CharlesMark is a nicely outfitted hotel in a great location and reasonably priced. It's very convenient (internet connect, free printer, grab-and-run breakfast) and the staff was great. My one reservation is that the building is noisy! the floors are creaky (i.e. you hear the people moving in the room upstairs) and the A/C is loud. So a great stay for heavy sleepers, not a bad place to recover from jet lag.
