Excellent hotel.

Lots of free parking, a friendly welcome from the staff, spacious, well equipped room with an amazing power shower. Everything you could want from the breakfast buffet. And I booked a special offer through Expedia at 1/3 of the normal price!

Ok

Room and restaurant really good, great facilities! Room wasn't cleaned to a great standard (false finger nails on the floor) and staff were slow and bordering on rude when checking out! Lovely waitress though!

Overnight for work with the kids in tow

Posted 04-Apr-2014
Pros: Modern. Convenient (restaurant/coffee shop/ salon/spa all co-located)
Cons: Consider ways to make it more family-friendly.
Overall the hotel was great, staff friendly, prices reasonable. Also, the buffet breakfast was excellent. Our one complaint was that the pool hours for kids were really limited to day time 9AM to 6:30PM. The pool was one of the main reasons we selected this hotel, and the kids were really disappointed not to be allowed in. We couldn't see how kids could really ever use it if the family was visiting London, or working as in our case. I would have preferred to see the kids hours extended to include early morning and/or evenings until about 9PM.

It was a pleasant trip. They also have Starbucks within the hotel. That was definitely great amongst everything else as well.

Large clean room, fantastik gym

Posted 20-Mar-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Noice reducing roof plates in lobby area, a bit noisy
Location: Well, there was a brand new pharmacy, I did not have the need to go outside, everything is available inside.
I was looping for a hotel outside Londan preferable Bear Warford, difficulté to find, there must have ben some event in Watford, Village Uban Resort Elstree came up, but was described as being out of City centre in a business area, but what the he.. I was only groning to snerp and work. It turned out however that this hotel, wichmann featuren a Starbucks, a pub, a fantastik Gym and also a large swimming pool ( this I did not try), so there was a lot of victors nd life in the area. The room was new, clean and big, tha bathroom...fantastic it had towel heater, a large open shower, big enough for a small party, and th bathroom were delicious. This will in the future be my preferred hotel, whenever I am in the area. De luxe room...? No it was just a standard room, but very de luxe.

Wanted a hotel with pool for our daughter

Posted 17-Feb-2014
Pros: I booked this hotel because of the pool so the pool was probably the best thing overall.
Location: Not much close by but we got the train at Elstree station into London city centre which took about 30 mins.
We booked this hotel because we thought it was close to the Harry Potter tour but it's not really. We paid £25 each way from the hotel to the tour. Otherwise I have no faults with the hotel. The staff were all lovely, hotel was spotless and the pool was amazing, my daughter loved it. The bar and food were more expensive than we're used to but we expected this as we are from the North West.

No wifi or apology

Posted 16-Feb-2014
Hotel was clean and nice yet we couldn't get wifi in our room and receptionist was lackluster to say least about helping. Starbucks and breakfast was on at 8. I'm an early riser and needed to be at my destination 30mins away by 8.30 so late starting breakfast was frustrating.

Indoor Camping

Posted 12-Feb-2014
I stayed at the Village Urban Resort Feb. 2nd-5th 2014. I would NOT recommend this hotel. In fact, I would describe my stay as the closest I have ever come to camping indoors. There are certain amenities that I never considered as extras until my stay at the Village. The hotel is 4 stories high and my room was on the 3rd floor. Apparently anything below the 4th floor will not have a clock, no minibar, no washcloths, and my favorite NO Soap! There is a liquid soap dispenser similar to a public restroom next to the sink and another in the shower. The shower dispenser has a combination soap/shampoo which means it will not wash off your skin, while too harsh for your hair. My remote control was taped together and there was a layer of dust covering the surfaces. The wifi comes and goes. It was camping indoors, I changed to a much more desirable hotel for my remaining days in London.
