“RIght next to station, spacious rooms”
Right across from the St Jean station and room was ready at 1pm. Receptionist was lovely, friendly and attentive. Spacious rooms, starting to need a little bit of repair but overall a pretty good hotel for the very reasonable price. Free internet PC in the lobby.
“Lovely staff, very cheap, slightly iffy area.”
The receptionists here were lovely and amazingly helpful and spoke good English - they let us check in early even though we had rocked up an hour too soon. The hotel is nothing special inside - rooms alright, but corridors and lifts etc. quite dated. The location is great in that is is right next to the train station, but it is a lot more than a gentle stroll into the centre of Bourdeaux - take the tram, definitely. The tram stop is right outside, however, so not an issue. The surrounding area is a bit rough - not at all dangerous as far as we could tell, but I wouldn't have relished walking home alone late at night.
“Excellent location”
The hotel was chosen for its convenient location opposite the train station and trams and it did not disappoint. It was also pleasant in a pedestrian square with plenty of restaurants. The hotel staff were very obliging and helpful. I would recommend it as a base for exploring Bordeaux and the surrounding area.
“Convenient location”
Perfect location beside train station. Very nice staff and good breakfast. Small rooms - cheap and cheerful.

“Right across from train station!”
This hotel had a great location for a traveler. It was directly across from the train station. However, the surrounding area at night was a little sketchy, I don't recommend walking around alone. The public transporation stopped right in front of the hotal as well which is great. I was very happy that there were four single beds in our room. We are college students studying abroad and wanted to save costs, but didn't all want to sleep in the same bed so that was really nice. The price was great, very reasonable. Don't get the breakfast, It's overpriced for cereal and bread, you can buy it right at the train station in the morning for less than half of that. The only thing I didn't love was the size. I know we asked for four single beds so I understand that, but the room was miniscule. If you are uncomfortable being cramped try for a suite. The bathroom was probably the worst thing, the door was just beveled glass. Not very comfortable in a miniature room with three other people. But all in all, it was a great deal for the price and for what we needed, basically just a place to sleep at night. Very clean as well, daily maid service!!
“Convenient hotel in front of Bordeaux train station”
Hotel du Faisan is a high value, pleasant convenient tourist hotel directly front of Gare St Jean in central Bordeaux. The hotel is adjacent to several restaurants, bars and a tram stop. Staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast is better than most on offer at hotels of this price range. You cannot go wrong.
“Cheap and cheerful”
Directly opposite the station entrance but not noisy. Worst noise for us was the scrapping of tables from restaraunt below as it put tables away at midnight and out again at 5.45! However room very clean and comfortable. En-suite small but evrything there though some will find the glass slidding door disconcerting.Breakfast room looked naff we had ours at a nearby cafe-coffee, orange croissant bread, jam and butter for 4.5 euros. 24 hour reception-helpful. A good base and convenient for the station trams and jetbus to the airport.
“not suitable”
bad location across from train station- very noisy and echoey. Also construction taking place for next few years. Not a good area to come back to at night. The coffee machine did not work at breakfast. The room/bathroom was tiny, the tiniest I have ever been in. Staff were very helpful and competent.
“Hôtel Faisan”
Bonne situation géographique en face de la gare et au pied du tramway.Personnel efficace et chambre agréable.Un bon rapport qualité-prix!
