“Great Hotel, in the centre of a great city!”

Location is perfect, room was clean and had everything we needed and the staff were extremly heelpful and friendly and spoke good english which helped as our French was a bit rusty!

“Good choice”

The Best Western Bordeaux Bayonne Etche-Ona isn't a flash hotel. Its basic - but has everything you need for a simple trip away. Its clean and comfortable, although I am glad I was travelling alone because the double-room was only spacious enough for me, and a 2nd guest would have been too cosy and cramped. I noted the room costs displayed in the hotel - and was much cheaper booking on Expedia, and glad I hadnt paid the full price. Basic room facilities, but good services from the hotel team. Best thing was the location - right next to the tram stop (not that you really need a tram to get around Bordeaux city), a few minutes from the tourist information centre and thus the airport shuttle bus (you can get a tram 1 stop from there to the hotel), and right in the centre of the posh-shopping district. Very central for all the major sights and to wander around, particularly for restaurants and bars and an easy stagger home on a night. Not a noisy area and safe to wander around at night. “A great central location”

Hotel is in a great spot. and is directly adjacent to a tram stop. The hotel itself is basic but a good base forr a few days. Hotel is quiet & clean. Serves up a good value breakfast which is cheaper by far to what you will pay when out & about.

“Great location”

This hotel is right in the middle of Bordeaux, just metres away from the square by the Grand Theatre, the tourist office and the bus station is just 100 metres away. It's ideal for travellers (like me) who don't usually use a car when abroad, as there is no parking next to hotel (as far as I'm aware). It's actually split into two buldings which are 30 seconds walk from each other. The hotel itself is what you'd expect for three star. My room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable, the staff were helpful.

“Mixed Opinion”

The hotel had an AMAZING location for all attractions within the city. The room was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and didnt mind speaking english. It was quiet and very clean. However the price was very expensive for a room which was small, pokey and rather awkward to move around. The air conditioning didnt work which meant the room was stuffy, especially at night and the bed wasnt very comfortable. Breakfast wasnt included and didnt look very impressive anyway but would have made the price seem more reasonable. I wouldnt stay there again but for the short few days it was ok and the location made it totally worthwhile.

“Great location for a city tour.”

This hotel is in a great central location, although difficult to get to by car - we ended up parking some way away in an underground car park, which was quite expensive. After an initial mix-up (reception gave us the key for the wrong room), service was fine. However, we didn't make much use of hotel facilities. In particular, we didn't bother with breakfast, as (as is usual in larger French hotels) it seemed expensive compared with what we paid in a nearby cafe. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room - which would have been helpful.

“Mislead about the two hotel venues...”

Overall the hotel, was good: the staff were friendly and efficient, the room clean and the location very central. My only criticism would be that the hotel has two sites. The first is the one on the main street, which is advertised, where as the second is a short walk away, off one of the back streets. This was not mentioned when we booked and on arrival at the advertised hotel, we could not check-in here and got diverted to the second venue, which whilst is very nice, it is not as plush looking as the first, nor is it what we believed we were paying for. Car-parking is nearby, in one of the many of the city's underground Carparks, which costs around twenty-euro per day. Overall not a bad experience, but would have prefferred to have know prior to our booking.
