Spent 3 nights here recently and really enjoyed it. The hotel's design and furnishing choices cater well to a business crowd and make you feel rich and important, even if you aren't :) The staff are nice, the breakfast buffet was ample, and the location is good - right beside the high street. Fantastic rooftop bar with live music. The breakfast area is a bit space constrained, but the staff do their best to manage the flow of people appropriately. Rooms were great, very clean and quiet, good aircon, good internet. And all for a good price too. Highly recommended!
I reserved and booked a room a few months ago for this hotel, like ive done so in the past. When i arrived in the philippines i went to the hotel. When i arrived they said i did not have any reservations and that they were fully booked. The staff member i spoke to said she did not know anything and had to talk to the supervisor. I explained that i paid for the days in advance and got confirmation when i booked the stay a few months ago. They still said they could not help me. Mind you ive been on an airplane for 22 hours and just wanted a place to sleep and i had become very angry before they could say or do anything. Then they tell me they had a room available..a 2 bedroom that was up and down and that i could use the 1st floor only, they had to lock the 2nd room to ensure i didnt use it. When i went in there, there were no towels, soap, or any basic toiletries. I didnt even hve access to wifi. On top of this bad experience they wanted to get me to put down 2000 pesos for the room. They did not explain any amenaties or any accomodations that they offer. After 2 days they said i had to leave because my reservation dates were done, they didnt even ask me if i wanted to extend my stay. They also added that it was expedias fault for not getting the reservation after even providing them with confirmation and paperwork. I hope the owner of this pathetic hotel reads this because they need to have a better staff, service, and organization.
Pre-Checkin: My bad experience started of before I arrived the hotel. Expedia website had no exact address. Nobody answers numbers provided by expedia. I googled Grand Hampton but still no exact address but at least there is some phone numbers. Called 2 numbers and asked them for Grand Hampton. The 2 were wrong numbers. On the 3rd number, some help came and gave me a number not in the website. Called that number but no answer. Luckily google map is accurate and I found the hotel with no help from the hotel. Check-In: Greeted by two ladies who looked surprised with my presence. Check in was done by another set of people not physically present in the location. Took them roughly 15-30 minutes before I am allowed to go to my room. Room: I was asked for a security deposit. Room is spacious and clean with the Aircon at the sala is not working. I asked them to fix it since I have to go. I came back around midnight. The sala aircon is already buzzing but cannot cool. It was just a glorified fan. Checking out: Confronted again by the same 2 ladies that seem to do not know what again am I doing. I cannot just leave since I need to collect my security deposit. I had to wait 30 mins for the guy again from Seibu. What a disaster.
