“Can't wait to go back, and happily recommend this hotel to family and friends.”

The location was perfect for us, right across the street from the train station. It was a 15 minute walk to historic downtown and lovely high end shopping district. Hotel was nicely appointed, and room was exceptionally clean and cared for. Staff was extremely quick, smart and FRIENDLY. I believe we have a made a couple of permanent friends. We had an excellent meal in their restaurant one evening. The meal was presented well, service was excellent and we would love to have more time for more meals. What a terrific place.

Area recommendations

The historic neighborhood is a for-sure. There are also wonderful museums, restaurants and high end shopping within walking distance between the hotel and the downtown. The only problem for us, was we only had two days in the area. We did take a food tour outside of the city, that left us wanting to stay forever. My husband and I would highly recommend Bologna, and this hotel in particular.

“Excellent Location!”

We were travelling on business and needed to catch a train to a nearby town. The hotel location was perfect...a walk across the street and we were at the train station. The lobby was modern and bright and the staff was very helpful. Very spacious, modern room. Good breakfast Also, just a short walk to the centre of town. Will definitely stay there again on our next trip.

“Great choice in Bologna”

We were only able to stay 1 night, but were very pleased with this hotel. The staff was very helpful and we were able to check in early. Since it is right across the street from the train station, it is very convienent. The tour bus stop is near by, there is a airport shuttle across the street, and the old city center is an easy walk. The hotel is clean and modern and the fairly large room nicely appointed with a large, 1st class bathroom. We were most impressed with service. Since our flight left very early, we were going to miss the included breakfast. We I mentioned this at check-in, the clerk offered to have a bag breakfast delivered the night before. They did, and it had a nice variety of bread, an apple, yogart, and cookies. This was the nicest, hotel on our European trip. It does have a business feel, so it might not be for everyone. We loved it! Oh... and at great price.

Near the train station offers a lot of convienence.

When to go

We reccomend the 1 hour bus tour. Although we didn't attend any museums, there are several. There is lots of Medieval history if interested. If you don't go to museums, you can see most things in 1 day.

“Great location”

Hotel was nice, and staff was really friendly and helpful. It is literally across the street from the train station which was perfect for our short stay in Bologna. It also was not a bad walk to the main street. Our room was upgraded to a suite at no charge. This hotel is definitely more of a hotel/conference center, but was still a great place to stay for vacation.

Getting around

We went to four cities on our vacation in Italy, and used the train to get to each of them. Very clean and comfortable, and easy to use!

Good Value, good accomadation with a relaxed professional staff. Have already recommended the Hotel. Finally a great location for access to the centrat train station, only 37 minutes to Firenze !!.

“aircon”

Business hotel so my expectations were not excessive breakfast was a little disappointing. poor coffee and ingredients seemed rather low quality room was fine except. the airconditioning was stuck at maximum fan speed and could not be turned off. repeated attempts to ask for it to be repaired failed. another surprise was that the strong box was too small for a laptop! everything else was fine and location is perfect for the railway station.

“Very average”

Convenient location near the station. Clinical atmosphere – more in tune with business visitors than people on holiday. Room was kept clean and had all facilities you could wish for. Unfortunately the appearance of the room was let down by some brown substance on the wall that appeared to have leaked from the room above and a large damp patch on the ceiling. Breakfast was barely adequate – very limited selection of food but the quality was satisfactory. The service was not satisfactory – cups were cracked and it proved difficult to get hold of cutlery, particularly spoons, unless we asked the staff, although this had improved on our last day – perhaps someone had complained.

“Comfortable in Bologna”

The room was large and well appointed. The bed was fantastically comfortable and the service was excellent.

“Bologna Star Hotel - like the name!!!”

Excellent hotel in a prime location beside the railway station. Ideal for travelling about Italy. Very close to the town centre and shopping/restaurants.
