“Clean, covenient and functional.”

This is not a five star hotel, however it is very clean, accomodating, and convenient. I chose it as it was midway between my destination and downtown, near the airport and accessible to the airport and everything else by frequent buses. A single line ran me to most places I wanted to be. I loved the restaurants nearby and having a supermarket within a block. The refrigerator was a life saver. Breakfast was so-so, but adequate. The wifi is a bit aggravating if navigating more than one page, but was free (check your particular reservation to be sure). The walls are pretty thin, but I didn't have but one night of noisy neighbors out of 2 weeks. Pretty good for the price I got.

Getting around

The 87 bus goes to the suburb , going into town is by the 87 and the 13 from the Beretta Rossa stop, and the 19 from the Ospidale Maggiore stop a couple of blocks toward downtown. Check public transportation at atc.bo.it and be patient, it is not offered in English!

“good stay”

breakfast included eggs and bacon, with the typical European spread of cheeses and hams with croissants. It was all very good and the staff did speak english. The only complaint/problem... our "free" tour guide that the hotel set up for us was a no show... All in all had a good time in Bologna!

“City of confusion”

overall the trip was nice, if you don't like art avoid Bologna cause there isn't much left to do. Someone has to get together with there tourist planer and draw up some bus route maps and tourist sights other then art. The hotel was nice the people were nice but the city didn't have what I was looking for nice sights from history, or if it did I couldn't find them.

“Good stay, close to airport”

The room was very clean and the hotel was very quiet. It's relatively close to the airport, and there is a direct bus that stops close by to get to and from the airport (ask the hotel). The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Area recommendations

You MUST go to the market right next to the Piazza Nettuno. The market is simply amazing and it made me want to have a kitchen so I could make the fresh pasta they were selling with the fresh produce. Absolutely fantastic! Also, it might be worth taking the city tourbus since there are some great views of the city that might be a bit hard to get to, especially if you're only there for a day or two.

“Bologna, Italy”

The hotel overall was great. The only bad part was the free internet was not very reliable most of the time. It took a lot of time to connect or a lot of dropped connections.

Most places closer to the center of town near the university had people who spoke English. Places furthur away, less English.

“Full Facilities in room and close to transport - convenient!”

The Best Western was really good. The room had ironing facilities, hair dryers, a bath, a desk - everything you expect but often don't get! The breakfast was ok - but on par with other Italian hotels. The room was big enough with a large bathroom and walk in robe so plenty of space. We had block out shutters which was great. The one down side is that it is close to the Hospital so there were a few ambulance sirens during the night. But Parking was free as was wi-fi and there are buses just around the corner.

“Very obliging management”

We found this hotel to be a pleasant place to stay, and especially to be recommended for people with cars as there is car parking space and for those to whom proximity to the airport (taxi 10 euros) is important. Management could not be more helpful

“Das H0otel Best Western Maggiore liegt in der Nähe des Ducati Museums und ist nicht weit weg von der”

Das Hotelzimmer war geräumig. freundlich und sauber. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich. Wir waren nur ein Wochende dort. Was uns gefehlt hatte war z.B. ein Wasserkocher im Zimmer, um in der kalten Jahreszeit einen Tee zu kochen. Das Restaurant ist sehr überschaubar. Es gibt keine große Auswahl und die Speisen sind auch nicht besondern groß. Auch der Preis für dieses kleine Essen und zwei Getränke war bei der Abreise eine eher unschöne Überraschung. Im Gesamten hat es aber gut für unsere Zwecke gereicht und wir waren nicht weit weg von unseren Zielen Ducati Museum und Innenstadt untergebracht.
