“Good location; excellent, helpful staff”
We found this hotel to be on the outskirts of Bologna and on the bus line to the center and train station. We found the staff so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The rooms are dated; however, the bathroom are totally updated "green", and had 2 double beds that were very comfortable sleeping! We would stay there again!
“Out of town but friendly and comfortable”
Hotel was fine, although away from the centre. Buses are frequent into both town and rail station. We were given an upgrade to a junior suite for 10 euros a night. Huge bed and great bathroom. Staff all friendly and helpful.
“Great value”
If only all hotels in Italy cost the same. Alloro was the best value hotel in over 2 weeks in Italy. Nice rooms, pretty good breakfast. Neighborhood is not much to look at, but it's a quick bus ride to the action.
“Nice time in Bologna”
Very comfortable modern hotel. Great cappucino for breakfast. Nice hotel service with smile. Good if you travel outside Bologna
“Very impressed”
immaculate interior, stylish modern decor with an interesting theme, polite staff, lovely breakfast.. minus- location, while technically within walking distance to all the landmarks, the walk didn't seem safe and pleasant one so we drove to the centre (parking reasonably easy to find, a bit pricy though). however, there is a good bus connection. highly recommended if you don't have to be 'right in the heart'..
“Very impressed”
We went to this hotel on the back of other reviews we wern't dissapointed. A good breakfast is important to start the day, there was a wide range of choice and the waiter made excellent coffee to order. The room was modern plenty of wardrobe space and a good size, and the bathroom has a good supply of fresh towels. The only drawback as stated by others is that it is a twenty minute walk to the attrctions it didn't bother us but may put off elderly or disabled people. The hotel staff were friendly and i would go back again.
“Second stay - still very impressed”
I thought you would like to know that our stay during June 2009 at Alloro Suites Hotel was great! We arrived at around 11 am and we were able to check-in straight away, so no problems there, and we were shown a room on the 8th floor (the top floor in the hotel). We had booked a standard room, which we were shown, however the reception manager offered us an up-grade to a junior suite which gave a number of enhancements to our stay, including access to Sky tv and unlimited soft drinks from the mini bar. There was also a marvellous walk-in shower, with a variety of devices, rather like a mini-spa. We had a long, sunny balcony which we used every evening for a relaxing drink before going for dinner. The up-graded room was worth every Euro!! We were looked after beautifully by all the staff, so on all fronts it was a lovely stay. We stayed at this hotel about 2 Christmases ago, when it was known as Executive Hotel, and we would certainly stay at Alloro Suites again.
“A fine example of Italian hospitality”
Although this hotel location means a walk, a bus or a bike ride (the hotel offers the use of cycles for free), it was worth being outside the city centre for this stay. Everyone at the hotel was not only accommodating but went out of their way to make you feel that you were a very welcome guest. And let's remember, as with all hotels, they are having to deal with a lot of strangers who almost always need something totally different from anyone else, and they usually have to have it straight away! The Alloro is very clean, very tidy, and very well organised. The free breakfast choice was excellent, and to get such good coffee in a hotel was a real bonus, and not just at breakfast. There is free access to a Segafredo machine in the lobby, just help yourself at any time of day or night. In conclusion, if you do not mind a twenty minute walk to reach the old city, or a gentle bike ride, or even a short bus journey, then I think you will be more than pleased to be staying here. A genuinely pleasing experience from start to finish.
