"Good choice of hotel which I am happy to recommend"
It is an easy journey to/from airport, both taxi fares under 20 euros. Hotel is well located with main square etc just a 5 minute stroll away. We asked for, and got, a quiet room. Reasonable size and facilities. Everything worked. Excellent desk folk and always helpful. Good breakfast with marvellous coffee! We had only four days and on that basis I felt one day was about right for Bologna itself especially as we returned each night - decent local restaurants. The train station is 10 - 15 minutes easy stroll away but I would recommend buying tickets night before if possible. We went out on day trips to Ferrara (a pretty small town but maximum one day and with a car then maybe less), to Ravenna (sadly in the rain as though the mosaics are truly wonderful I should have loved to see them sparkling on a sunny day. Admittedly less time available as the train journey was 1hour 20 minutes but I would have been happy to spend a little more time in Ravenna armed now with some knowledge) and then to Verona which we loved. This being a spur of moment trip we had done no research and rather longer time would have been a good idea. Serendipity gave us a memorable, and pretty cheap lunch by the river. The train service is very cheap by English standards, and quite reliable. We paid more to go to Verona to gain the benefit of a non stop train, journey time 50 minutes but still well worth while.
First time at this hotel, spending one night on a short break from London. Welcoming and helpful staff at check-in, nice if smallish room, great A/C. well-designed and appointed bathroom, free wifi and breakfast (at least at our rate), and you can't beat the location, right in the centre of town but on a quiet sidestreet. We'll be back.
Good location close to shops and sights. Short walk to the food areas and markets. The apartment was cleaned every day and we felt very safe in not only the location but with the room security. The roof top view and being able to sit back with a wine and an antipasti we picked up at the market really made the trip.
This is more of an appartment than a hotel. No kitchen though. The place is nice and clean and Bologna's center. Close to everything. The owners are nice. There three rooms in this appartment so if everybody's quiet at night, this is a perfect place to stay. Each room has its own private bathroom.
We stayed in the apartment right next to and managed by the hotel Astoria, about 10 min walk from the train station. The place was roomy, open plan with a very basic kitchenette that we didn't use.
The breakfast at the hotel was generous and pleasantly varied with Italian salami, ham, cheese, croissants and danish pastries, fruit salad, cereals, etc. Good cappuccino, too!
