The rooms were extremely clean and spacious, the beds were very comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke very good English, and the buffet was really good. Great selection and variety! The hotel is very close to the metro and bus station
We decided to not bother with breakfast at eur 13/head: there are lovely breakfasts available in the middle of Munich that are significantly cheaper: Rischart on Marienplatz, fed 3 people (including the best hot chocolate ever) was under eur30.
The door to one of the fire escapes was locked throughout (slightly worrying).
On the plus side, the hotel did not need to be told that a 12 year old boy needs his own bed. Beds comfortable and clean. Kettle in the room (not common in Germany) TV worked, including some English channels. Staff unfailingly friendly and polite, very helpful.
Tip: the mvv journey involves either 2 changes or going the long way round: not ideal if you have lots of luggage. If you take the S8 to Johanneskirche a taxi is about eur10 from there.
"Very good value, high quality hotel with friendly "
Very friendly and helpful staff, free minibar(!), lovely terraces on 4th and 5th floors to enjoy your free daily beer, and good quality modern rooms. The air-conditioning was not brilliant and the standard pillows hopeless, but take advantage of the pillow menu to solve this problem...we worked that out after the first night! Breakfast is a bit pricey, but the hotel has a beautiful courtyard garden in which you can enjoy your scrambled eggs. Location is good, if you are looking for a bit of seclusion fairly close to the centre.
Set in the noble Bogenhausen quarter, just minutes from the city center, Hotel Munchen Palace is the very definition of an …More
Located north-east of the centre, Munich's largest district is predominantly car-free. It is slightly elevated and offers views of the city centre, with the century-old villas of Priel and Oberföhring just up the hill from leafy Herzogpark. Boris Becker once made his home in this part of town.
