“Stay in Bodrum”

This is Gumbet, not Bodrum - if you want to go to a very westernised / english experience this is for you - like the Ibiza of Turkey. I prefer to learn about a culture, a country and take in the atmosphere of being in a new country. You could hear music from local clubs till 3 or 4am in the morning every night. We changed room after one night, but this was a mistake. Luckily, we were a simple 20 min bus ride to Bodrum - much nicer and very easy to get to. Careful if you pick this

“Adequate for a low budget hotel”

The hotel only replaces towels every three days and you can't take towels from the room to the swimming pool. Dinner is included with the room, but anything you drink is extra. WiFi internet connection is not reliable.

“fabelagtigt ophold, især til prisen”

Vi var 2 par der var afsted. Vi havde betalt ufattelig lidt for at få aftensmad på hotellet. Maden var god og tilstrækkelig, hvilket vi ikke havde regnet med til den pris. Personalet var alle meget høflige, meget opmærksomme på om der manglede noget, samt hjælpsomme. Hotellet er få minutters gågang fra stranden, samt få minutters gågang fra hovedgaden, hvor der er meget musik om aftenen. Grundet hotellets beliggenhed generer musikken ikke når man er på hotellet. Hotellet er ikke så stort, men der er rigelig med plads uanset hvor man gerne vil være, balkonnerne er dog små. Prisen taget i betragtning er dette hotel meget bedre end vi havde forventet. Vil anbefale dette hotel til alle, og kommer der helt sikkert igen.

“super”

kwam vroeg in de morgen aan in hotel ontvangst was goed erg behulpzaam moest iemand bellen maar had met mijn tel geen bereik daar met tel .nachtportier heeft er alles aan gedaan om voor mij te bellen personeel erg vriendelijk ga zeker nog een keer terug

als je van uitgaan hou moet je zeker hier zijn 3min lopen en je zit volop in het uitgaans leven maar wil je cultuur snuiven er rijden busjes genoeg om je naar de mooiste plaatjes te rijden eten zowel in hotel als in gumbet zelf erg goed en het zijn redelijke prijzen daar

“Freundliches kleines Hotel in Strandnähe”

Kurz nach der Anreise beklagten wir uns beim Hotelmanager über die mangelnde Sauberkeit insbesondere der Bettwäsche. Die Bettwäsche wurde daraufhin sofort gewechselt. Um uns zufriedenzustellen, wies uns am nächsten Morgen beim Frühstück der Manager zwei neue saubere helle Zimmer in einem anderen Hoteltrakt zu. Die Koffer wurden vom Personal dorthin getragen. Mit den neuen Zimmern waren wir nun sehr zufrieden. Der Service war gut, das Personal freundlich. Lage des Hotels ruhig und zentral; Musik und Baustellenlärm waren nur bei offenem Fenster zu hören. Ein Problem, für das das Hotel aber nichts konnte: Der Bodrumer Stadtteil Gümbet war im März und April 2010 eine Großbaustelle; mit beeindruckender Schnelligkeit wurden in der Nachbarschaft Hotels renoviert, neu gebaut, Abwasserkanäle und Stromleitungen verlegt, alles für die bevorstehende Hochsaison. Unser Fazit: Zufrieden, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, trotz Baustellen hervorragende Infrastruktur (Busverbindungen, Geschäfte, Geldautomaten).

Area recommendations
Ich würde den Stadtteil Gümbet wegen seiner Strandnähe und der zahlreichen Geschäfte und Bars durchaus empfehlen, wenn die Baustellen fertig sind. Tipp: Sehr schöner Strand im 20 km entfernten Turgutreis.

Der Flughafen Bodrum bietet leider keine Direktverbindungen nach Deutschland; durch den Umstieg in Istanbul wurde die Reise ziemlich lang und stressig. Tipp: Nordwestdeutsche können direkt ab Amsterdam nach Bodrum fliegen.
