“Great views ... some distance from Bodrum”

Kempinski is a great hotel with amazing views and great pool and spa. Restaurants are good but wine in Turkey is silly expensive (tax apparently). Even basic room we had was spacious and clean with everything you need including a view and they bring tea facilities for us Brits too. Only downside is location..great location for views but out of the way..no strolling to other hotels or restaurants..so we had read this and hired a car for trips to Bodrum itself. Tip..go to Jakikovak..really nice and cheaper for eating out (1/2 price of Bodrum). Whole area has a brilliant coast line to explore (take handcleaners and tissues). Lots of apparently stray dogs and cats everywhere but didnt have any concerns about them or the food which was all good..enjoy

“Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay is the Best Hotel”

we really enjoyed all the times that had been spent in this amazing hotel; especially, the wonderful set up of preparing the bad & nice cake which was the best one at all of our all wedding anniversaries including honey moon year. Good to mention, the hotel located on Barbaros Bay which far 20 mins. by using the public bus to Bodrum (down town). This bus pick up from the main gate of the hotel for 4 TRL. Also, the hotel has four nice restaurants; one of them is on their private beach. In addition to that, all the staffs are speaking English and they are really helpful. In my opinion Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay is the Best Hotel at Bodrum

“Perfect”

Great service and excellent facilities, especially the swimming pool. The hotel is situated in its own bay with private beach, so it's nice and quiet. Decorated in very nice taste and extremely comfortable, with a selection of good restaurants. The food was delicious. We could hardly bring ourselves to leave the hotel. My only complaint would be that the food and drinks were super overpriced, even by Western European standards.

“Weltklasse Hotel mit erstklassigem Service an wunderschöner Bucht”

Service, insbesondere am Strand, und Ausstattung waren hervorragend. Die Lage ist einmalig. Sehr ruhig, obwohl Hotel ausgebucht. Die Preise sind (leider) entsprechend. Sehr internationales, äußerst angenehmes Publikum, meist Paare oder Familien.

When to go

Juli war schon sehr heiß, bis 38°. Pool hatte ca. 33°´- deswegen kam "nur" das Meer in Frage, was eigentlich keinen Nachteil darstellte.

Getting around

Wer viele Ausflüge machen will, ist zwingend auf einen Mietwagen angewiesen.

Dining

Die Hotelrestaurants sind zwar sehr teuer, Service und Qualität aber hervorragend! Empfehlungen des Personals kann/soll man vertrauen.

Nightlife

Hotel eignet sich nicht für (Single-) Partygänger. Wenn man richtig Party machen will, muss man ca. 20 min. per Taxi nach Bodrum fahren, wo das Leben tobt.

Outdoors or beach

Sandstrand eher klein, aber große Grünfläche mit genügend Liegen. Wunderschöner Blick auf Bucht. Sehr sauber.

“Weltklasse-Hotel ohne lästige All-Inclusive-Touristen, etwas außerhalb”

Das Hotel liegt - und das ist gleich der Schwachpunkt - 15km bzw. eine Viertelstunde außerhalb von Bodrum und ist nur per Mietwagen oder Taxi/Dolmus zu erreichen. Wer öfter als 1-2 Mal nach Bodrum fahren oder einen Ausflug machen will, sollte einen Mietwagen buchen. Außerhalb Bodrums zu wohnen hat aber generell seine Vorzüge. Das Hotel an sich ist einzigartig, faszinierend und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Man kann die stilvollen Restaurants und Bars erkunden, kostenlos im luxuriösen Spa-Bereich entspannen, sich am hoteleigenen Strand vergnügen, den riesigen Infinity-Pool nutzen... Dabei fehlen gierige All-Inclusive-Touristen in Ermangelung dieser Angebote vollständig, was zu einer sehr relaxten Atmosphäre beiträgt. Das Personal ist dabei zuvorkommend wie sonst kaum irgendwo im Mittelmeerraum. Das Hotel ist vor allem super für Paare und im Allgemeinen für Gäste, die Entspannung suchen oder einen luxuriösen Hotelstandard schätzen. Aber sogar Familien mit kleinen Kindern kamen hier augenscheinlich auf ihre Kosten. Pluspunkte auf einen Blick: Luxuriös, stilvoll, hoher Freizeit- und Entspannungswert, tolle Restaurants, hervorragendes Frühstück (inklusive) bis 12 Uhr, atemberaubender Blick aufs Meer, Weltklasse-Spa-Bereich, schöne Zimmer mit allem erdenklichem Komfort, schöne und großzügige Architektur, erst 3 Jahre alt, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis Minuspunkte auf einen Blick: Außerhalb gelegen, hohe Preise für Minibar, Restaurantbesuche und Anwendungen im Spa.

Traveller's tip

Man kann im Hotel, in dessen Umgebung und auch in Bodrum selbst griechische Handynetze (COSMOTE, Vodafone GR etc.) empfangen, solange man freien, ungestörten Blick aufs Meer hat. Das führt dank EU-Tarif zu erheblichen Einsparungen bei Gesprächskosten.
