Stayed at Zazen on recommendation of a friend. We loved the location, garden villa and the superb service. Secluded but not isolated so able to walk to other restaurants and bars. The breakfasts at the hotel are amazing and the service from the staff outstanding. We would have no hesitation on staying here again.
Efficient and early check in with personalised welcome and tour of the resort. Compact (for 3) but well presented bungalow room and lovely gardens make for an encouraging first impression. Excellent, well trained and very personable staff help to make this a very enjoyable place to stay. Breakfasts are pretty standard fare but consistent. The beach is very nice but the real letdown for the resort and the village of Bophut is that the cleanliness of the sea is poor due to uncontrolled discharges along the coast. If you are happy to sit on a beach and use a swimming poll then this place is recommended but think again if you want to swim in the sea.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Bandara resort. We booked this hotel with a 50% discount, and booked a superior room. It did not say in the room description that the door was right on a very busy street, and the noise was really loud, through the night as well. We asked for an upgrade to a deluxe room, right on the pool, and this was worth it. The breakfast was excellent, the pool is beautiful and the location is great. Just a few minutes walk from the fisherman's warf. I think it's a good value with the 50% discount, but would not pay full price...Staff was extremely nice and helpful at the reception and restaurants.

The Mantra was perfect for our vacation. It's comfortable and the staff is friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast is nice, and the views from the pool, restaurant and rooms are stunning.
The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from the center, which is not a problem at all if you're ready to drive a scooter.
Only one point: there are too few sunbeds around the pool, so except if you're ready to get up at 8am to reserve yours, you'll probably end up with none, or you will have to wait until someone leaves.

I spent a month at the Samui Palm Beach resort. It is a beautiful environment once you drive through the gates. A warm welcome from friendly staff, large air conditioned rooms that are cleaned to a shine daily. Excellent food with prices better or comparable to local restaurants. I enjoyed every moment. My special thanks to Shu and Paula who seemed to put of their way to make my stay special.
The hotel is small with a nice little pool we were very often the only people that used it. The reception staff were excellent and helped with everything that we asked for. The hotel in very well located only 5 min walk from fisherman's village and opposite the new shopping mall, the only thing is you do need to cross the busy main road.
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed on arrival with a fruit juice. Staff arranged hire of a scooter for us which was the same price as hiring from elsewhere but no need to leave your passport - which was good. Our room was comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. Air conditioning, tea and coffee, fridge, good shower, large bed which we found comfy. The breakfast was good and the staff made fresh omelettes/scrambled egg/pancakes on waffles on demand. Pool was great and cleaned every morning. Location brilliant - right on the beach at Bo Phut and in a nice quiet area, but within walking distance to fishermans village. The Friday "walking street" market was great and we tried a lot of the street food there. The hotel drinks were reasonably priced and we ate several times in the restaurant. All of us enjoyed our meal. The view was beautiful from the terrace, where you ate - lovely in the morning. Sunrise is worth getting up for as the sun rises opposite the terrace - beautiful. The hotel had a massage service and this was good and reasonably priced too. We had no problems with this hotel and would be happy to stay here again. It was great value for money, not 5 star luxury, but if you want a clean hotel, with good facilities in a nice area without spending the earth then we would recommend. We were sad to leave here after spending two weeks. Staff also gave us an early morning wake up call and arranged for our taxi to the airport
This upscale beach on the north shore of Ko Samui is three kilometres long and conveniently located near the pier for ferries to and from Ko Phangan. Visitors have their pick of 20 or so lodging choices, typically of the bungalow hut variety. A short drive from here is the Samui Monkey Centre, where trained monkeys fetch coconuts from palm trees, and Wat Phra Yai, home of the 12-metre Big Buddha statue.
