Worst place to stay ever!

Posted 15-Jun-2015
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: How about a new hotel manager, new housekeeping manager and cleaning crew!
Location: Bedford is a small town, so the location is good for what few restaurants the city offers.
This is a hotel that was recently made into a Quality Inn. We stayed at this facility when it was known as Stone Henge. The building is probably close to 30 years old, and by the looks of our room, has not been updated (or cleaned )since. Though the carpets looked fairly new, they were grossly dirty and felt greasy. We had to keep our shoes on, even after showering, to keep our feet clean. There was so much mildew around the shower, the shower handles and the floor tiles, we finally went across the street to Walmart and picked up a bottle of bleach gel to clean up the mildew around the tub and on the floor around the tub. (Hint... you can't just use thick caulk to "cover up" the mildew!) There were several non-working electric outlets in the room. I finally had to give up on using my CPAP machine, as the cord on my machine is only about 5FT long, and would not reach across the room to a working outlet. There was a strong musty odor upon entering the back entrance to the hotel, which was the closer way to enter from our parking place. When we got into the room, the odor was more than we could bear, so I pulled out the two filters on the front of the air conditiioning unit and both were covered in about 1/4 inch of greasy dirt. I cleaned them and bleached them out before reinserting them. Amazing what a little bleach can do, huh? This place should be removed from your hotel list.

Dirty, No housekeeping

Posted 28-Apr-2015
Pros: The location was ok for our needs.
Cons: Housekeeping. They need to clean the whole place, rooms, hallways, pool, etc.
Location: The hotel is close to restaurants.
When we arrived in our room for the first of our 2 night stay we found the pillows on the bed to be small, the size of couch throw pillows, we also found the bathroom floor to be filthy. You could even see dried spots around the base of the toilet and dirty bare foot prints on the floor. It was late however, and we were so tired that we went to sleep hoping that the mess would be cleaned up when the maid came in the following morning. The problem is the maid never came in to make up our room even though we had left it all day long available to be cleaned. When we complained to the front desk we were given a stack of clean towels, a handful of soap, a trash bag to put the soiled towels in from the day before, and A SHEET TO COVER UP THE GROSS FLOOR. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and certainly will NOT stay there the next time I'm in the area.

Four walls, a roof, a bed & TV

Posted 20-Feb-2015
Pros: The staff was very welcoming.
Cons: Softer beds, better placed room signage, normal shaped pillows, maybe do something about the smell.
We decided at the last minute to go stay somewhere for Valentine's Day. Since it was last minute, this was the only thing we could find on such short notice. The first thing you notice when you get there is the smell. The entire place smelled old or musty combined with industrial cleaner. The overall layout of the place was somewhat confusing. There was a solid door that looked as though it led to the boiler room or maintenance shop when in fact it led to a hallway. The placard with room numbers was placed by the stairwell as though the rooms were up stairs when in fact, they were behind the aforementioned door. The title pretty much sums it up. There was a breakfast served in the morning which neither of us took advantage of so, I can't speak to the quality of that. The king bed we had was hard, very hard. We both woke up with back aches. And the pillows were oddly shaped; like spheres about the size of basketballs. We didn't care for that either. At the end of the day, our stay was OK at best. I would look elsewhere but if you're in a pinch, Quality Inn will do, just don't expect much.

Athletic team stayed here

Posted 26-Jan-2015 on Hotels
I traveled with an athletic team and we used the hotel. Showers were warm, beds were comfortable, TV worked, breakfast was plentiful. The hotel shows signs of wear and age, but they aren't claiming to be a 5 star resort. For $65 a night, it was worth the money. Wal-mart, Steak-N-Shake, Buffalo Wild Wings are directly across the street as well.

Reliably Accommodating and a Good Value

Posted 24-Jan-2015 on Hotels
Been here several times now. Hotel has everything needed. The desk clerk on duty when we got there in the late evening was very warm and welcoming. He seemed very sincere in his desire to ensure that we had all that we needed. He was just the same the next night. The room was fine. The breakfast area was neat and well stocked. Offerings were somewhat ordinary, but acceptable. The common area of the hotel could use some cleaning but for the price, this hotel is fine. Thanks!

Not the best experience

Posted 08-Jan-2015 on Hotels
There is no signage after a person leaves SR 37. The hotel beds and linens are old hair laden. I probably will not choose this hotel for my near future visit with family nor will I recommend it over the competitor. The front desk person locked me out of my room before I could vacate all of my luggage, I informed her that I was not finished yet and her response was that it was not her fault...Service is primary in today's competitive world.
