For 3 star hotel is a very good price. There are not many rooms overlooking the sea, but considering that we have been all day out it didnt matter. Rooms were very clean, but not hairdryers. However, this winter they are upgrading and is not going to be an issue any more. Great entertainment every night, flamenco, live music, brazilian dancers. I was very surprised with the quality of food. We bought half board, so were very happy with our choice. Excellent buffet menue for 3 start hotel, new every day, various grilled meats, fish on the top of main meat dishes. Plenty of salads and fresh fruits. Someone told me that they stayed in different hotel 4 start but food wasnt ner as good as here. And staff was extremely polite and welcoming. They love children. Must visit Botanic gardens, make boat trip to Tossa de Mar and take a train to Barcelona with beautiful coastal view. Didnt get cnahce to swim as water was cold and wasnt lucky with weather-end of September, which was very unusual for this time of the year. Further away there are little bays where you can swim, where water is a bit warmer. Lovely long walks alongside the beach. For nice Paella go to restaurant-2 floors(dont remeber the name) by the beach, where the all boats are. Not many tourists there and food was excellent. Also, go to Marineland to see show with dolphins, its brilliant!
Stay was overall OK, the room was dingy and small, with a small TV made in probably 1920s ( 10 Euro deposit for Remote??), the mattress were very hard with outdated springs, the blanket had cigarette holes in it, the staff was ok not so helpful, there was a safe in the room but broken, no hair dryer, no fridge or iron or coffee maker etc - everything that should be included in a 3 star hotel ( as they claim it to be), i think rating wise it should not be more than 2 stars. the only positive point was its closeness to the beach and the breakfast.
It was quite pleasant to hear that receptionists speak very good English, since it is not very common there. Everybody was very helpful and friendly and that was really nice!
Location was fine - close to residential houses (quiet area) and the beach. Facilities as well as rooms are very old and need serious renovation. I don’t eat meat, so there was very limited choice for me at the breakfast, and it was not tasty at all I should say. One more funny thing - though the hotel rooms are equipped with electronic locks guests still have to lock them with usual keys… Quite an odd thing… I didn’t knew this and I left my door opened in the first day. Nothing was stolen and when I was back in the evening the hotel staff kindly explained me that I should do when I leave the hotel :)…
Don't be fooled by the photos on the website. Yes the pool is a luxury and the hotel has potential to be the 4 Stars as rated. It lacks personality with all the staff seeming to be put out when you wanted something. At first I thought it was because I only spoke English but then I realised the local speaking guests had issues to. Not flexible at all. The bar has signs states open until 2400hrs but come 2300hrs they wanted to go home so either you did not get served or they just brought you the bill. The price was good for a 4 Star hotel but it turned out to be like a 'budget airline'. You wanted to use the indoor spa / saunas, that will be extra per person per half day, you want internet access that will be extra. I paid for the use on a LAN cable in my room and received a 24hr login. Later I tried to use this in the WiFi lobby but no you have to purchase another access code for that. You want an in room Mini Bar, no probs but that will cost and a minimim purchase fee per day. Same with an in room safe. Wasn't game to ask for towels for the pool or bathroom toiletries which are usually complementary with a '4 Star' hotel. It was a long walk to the main restuarants and bars but on a good note in was at the quite end of the beach. Can't say I will be back which is a shame as it has great potential if managed properly.
