Booked family room, 2 adults and a 4 year old. Nice little treats (drink & sweets) left on the bed for my daughter. This was a chair bed, the metal folding mechanism a little exposed (as with any chair bed0, but caused no problems for her during the night.
All nicely clean and tidy - only a half bath, but sufficient for a short stay.
Was very impressed with the waiting staff for the in-house Italian restaurant (which doubles up for breakfast), very well mannered and appeared sincere - among the best waiting staff I have ever encountered at any restaurant. Not constantly bugging you during your meal to make sure everything is fine, just made sure it was perfect when they gave you the food - which was also very nice.
Myself and my 7 yr old Grandaughter had a lovely experience at the hotel, everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was lovely and lots of variety to suit all.
Evening Entertainment was wonderful.
Room was small but clean & comfortable.
Beautiful beach location.
Pleasant, helpful staff on arrival, even got a member of staff to help us with our luggage from the car.
Room was spacious and clean with lovely sea view. Meals were brilliant and lounge very nicely set out. Comedian on first night was first class. It was a very enjoyable three nights and would have liked to stay longer.
It is with some pride that I write this review of The Cliffs Hotel in Blackpool. My stay was for 5 nights and I can say very enjoyable. The staff were very efficent and welcoming when we arived. We had booked a Sea view room and we got exactly what we booked, Second floor room facing the sea. The room was very clean and fairly comfortable and it was also quiet. The breakfast had lots of choice, though the large dining room was busy food was replaced very quickly when it was running out. The staff in the dinning room were always polite and were able to point one in the right direction when looking for any of the food provided which was all of a very good quality. The pool area was clean and the pool was really very clean. Parking can be abit of a problem at this busy time of year but not impossible as the local streets do have space and there is a car park a block or so away.
The room it self was just a little tired and and the bed covers could do with an upgrade. The bed linen was very clean and crisp. Back to the staff at reception, they were so very helpfull in all or requirements, to be fair all the staff at this hotel were excellent, they must have a good working envoirment and a good Manager.
second visit to this hotel, we just stayed for the one night with our daughter and her boyfriend, the rooms were clean and comfortable, it was pleasantly warm due to the continuous central heating, the spa pool was enjoyable and the breakfast could not be faulted, there was a good choice of food and we had a very attentive staff, will be back again,
Stayed at this hotel with friends the weekend before Christmas. The rooms were very comfortable with lovely views over the seafront. Ate at the restaurant twice and was very impressed by both the evening carvery and buffet breakfast - lots of choice and great quality. Added bonus here is the large car park, not often found at hotels on the front.
This is a fairly typical old hotel/B&B for Blackpool. The family who run it are very friendly and approachable, and have a couple of parrots by the front door, which was a nice surprise. To be honest, the building needs some work doing (our floor was sloping, the bathroom door slid difficultly, and there were patches of damp on the ceiling, despite fresh decor), but it's clear that great pride is taken in the day-to-day running; the room was immaculately clean and cosy.
Downstairs is a games room and bar, with pool table.
Breakfast was very nice too, cooked to order.
This is less than 10 minutes from Blackpool South station, in the quieter part of the town, and is therefore easy to reach. The Golden Mile is about 5 minutes away.
I would not hesitate to consider staying here again.
