Comwell Soro is a large modern hotel on the outskirts of Soro, just off the main E20 east-west road across Denmark and less than an hour from Copenhagen airport. It is of architectural interest, as one of the largest thatched buildings in the world. The rooms are small but stylish and comfortable; the free gift of a conserve from the wonderful store of Danish products in the hotel was a lovely touch. Contrary to the website, there is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The restaurant is a lovely room with great views over the lake and valley to the town of Soro. The evening meal was world-class and the buffet breakfast was breathtaking. The staff were extremely helpful, providing blankets and cushions for those taking coffee on the terrace in the morning, and there is a swimming pool, games room and bicycle hire on the premises.

Large hotel on the outskirts of town. We arrived at 3 pm on a Sunday, the hotel was locked and lights out. We banged on the door and a guy let us in, said there would be no staff on duty until 5pm. I spotted our keys on the reception desk so we did get into our rooms. Just after 5pm I went to reception to book a table in the hotel restaurant only to be told it wouldn't be opening that night. We were directed into town to eat.
Breakfast the following morning was fine, only two other guests were dining. The restaurant was closed that evening too, so was the bar.
I have stayed here before and It's always been satisfactory, maybe just a one off poor stay.

I loved this hotel. It is very much Scandinavian style: a lot of wood, in the middle of nature, somewhat simplistic, but very functional room. Super friendly staff -- this may just be the friendliest staff I have ever seen.. and I stayed in over 500 hotels. Very safe location. Excellent breakfast. Bear in mind, this hotel is in a small village, and there is very little to do there. It is easily accessible from the highway, however, and there is a bigger town (Haslev) not far away (grocery shopping). If you are looking for a quiet, safe, lovely, place during your journey in Denmark, this is it.
