“Nice remodeled Inn”

Interior is newer; decor is good. Bathroom is small and very little room to move around but it is clean and updated.

“Serious Bed Bug Problem!”

My 9-yr old son, my wife and I were severely bitten by bed bugs. Although they gave me a full refund, we are really concerned about our health now.

“Typical La Quinta - great location”

This is a pretty typical La Quinta hotel - good price, free breakfast, no frills in the room, etc. Great location, right on 395 in the heart of Bishop. You're right next to the 'world famous' bakery place, if that's your thing... the older section of Bishop with the more local-ish bars and restaurants is a bit of a walk/drive to the South. Hotel is near a grocery store and gas station. Perfect for a quick stop during my drive from Reno to San Diego. If I'm passing thru Bishop again, I'd stay here again. Bed was clean and comfortable. Shower was a little weird (it had a massage shower head, but all the settings seemed to spray water everywhere), but nothing too bad.

“Great overnight stop”

I chose this hotel for its convenience and price. I checked in after 10 pm and checked out before 8 am, and it was perfect for that purpose - a good night's sleep! Comfortable bed, clean sheets, clean bathroom with a good shower. I would definitely stay again.

Area recommendations
This is a great low cost option for those who are spending their day traveling to all the great photography sites around Bishop. Sabrina canyon, Mammoth Lakes, Bristlecone Pine forest, Bodi, and Mono Lake are all easy day trips with much to see/photograph along the way. It is also a great place to spend the night on the way to Yosemite via Tioga Pass.
When to go
Bishop is great year round. Spring and summer are great for fishing, hiking, and photography. Fall colors are spectacular and Sabrina Canyon with North Lake, South Lake and Lake Sabrina are great places for taking photographs of colorful aspen trees and spectacular snow covered mountains. The fishing seemed to be good too! Winter is great for skiers on the way to Mammoth.

“It's worth every bit of the 2 stars it was rated at.”

Once the stale smell went away the room was tollerable. The bathroom was literally 5'x6', at least everything worked. The loudness of the air conditioner drowned out most other noise, I guess that's a good thing. Not quite sure I'd stay here again.

The bakery next door was most excellent, try the sheepherders bread.

“It's a clean bed in Bishop”

Just another chain hotel among the masses on Main st in Bishop. Nothing outstanding but no real complaints. Front desk was very friendly. Continental Breakfast OK. This is an older property that has undergone a superficial face lift recently.

Area recommendations
It is a bit of a drive but do not miss the Ancient Bristle Cone Pine forest.

“Not impressed”

The room was quite poor. The room was much too small for the furniture. It had to full size beds, but should have only had one King in it. It also had a desk with an office chair that couldn't go under the desk due to the chair arms. We had to move the desk in front of the air condition/heater (which rendered it useless, as the controls were blocked) to make room for the chair to be next to wall so we could walk around the bed near the window.. The bathroom vent/fan (comes on with the light switch) was extremely noisy. We ended up taking a lamp, from the main part of the room, and put it in the bathroom so we didn't have turn on the light switch/fan. I doubt we will stay there again.

Area recommendations
Anywhere in Bishop is wonderful. We love it there and travel there frequently. We're photographers and hikers and love classic cars. There is usually some kind of event going on in Bishop. This trip was the Fall Colors Car Show (and 50's theme dance). We live about 4 hours from Bishop and go there as often as we can. We will be heading through there again in December, on our way to Carson City, NV, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We will be going again for Mule Days. It's held on May 24th-29th 2011. That will be right after we get back from the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend #14 in April.
Family-friendly activities
Bishop always has family friendly activities and events. It's a great place to go...anytime. It has a beautiful park, in the center of town, with a stream (and ducks) running through it. It's a favorite place for hiking, photography and fishing. It's the kind of place that you can walk down the main street at 10 PM and not be frightened to do so. And walking down the main street (Hwy 395) is a treat. It's got tons of unique, family owned shops. They do have a K-Mart, but it's not on the main street (which I find refreshing). They have a huge fairgrounds for equine, rodeo, car and other events. So far, our favorite restaurants in Bishop are Jack's (make their own seven grain bread, yum!), Whiskey Creek (great for breakfast), and La Casita
