“You get what you pay for!”
Cheap hotel. Good location for Birmingham City Centre. Good parking and buses are regular. Hotel standard is poor though. There was an open shower gel left over in the bathroom from previous person. On one day I was not given any towels. No light in the stairwell at night. Good food at the pub next door (cheaper too!)
“Quality Hotel, Hagley Road”
A hotel of variable quality. This and past visits have shown that room comfort depends on whereabouts the room is located rather than the price you pay. In fact, on 1 previous visit, I actually changed from a room being used as a store by decorators! This visit was the poorest room so far, but the location is perfect for my needs and the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna make it far preferable to a supposed better hotel "across the road". I will stay there again, and know that I just have to take potluck regarding the room itself.
“Quality Hotel Birmingham”
Second stay. They still can't get the room booking correct, as double was booked, and was given a twin. However second room was fine. Nice leisure centre. Lovely decked patio and beer garden.
“very noisy”
Bed not very comfortable as you could feel the springs of the matteress. Very noisy with people running through the corridors and shouting till early hours of the morning.
“Cheap and cheerful”
Having paid a low price for my room (about 30% of the rack rate) I felt the hotel gave good value for money. My one complaint was cleanliness: the window surrounds in particular were filthy. The main room and bathroom had been cleaned fairly well but it is all looking rather tired and frayed around the edges. I had an evening meal in the restaurant which was much better than I had anticipated. To balance that, breakfast was very poor with the hot food having been subjected to a lengthy dehydration by heat process rather than cooked. If you want a comfortable bed in a quiet location and can get a good price this hotel is fine.
“Only if you're on a serious budget”
Ok, couldn't argue with the price but on our room service menu that was in our room, there was an unidentifiable sticky substance with a long black hair stuck to it. The room was like a sauna when we arrived so we turned the radiator off only for it to leak a small lake onto the bathroom floor. The room smelled as if someone had been smoking in it upon our arrival. And the breakfast was revolting - the sausage had obviously been lying there so long it was so hard you couldn't even bite through it. I couldn't eat the breakfast apart form the pre-packed cereal and yogurt. Good location and good price but I'd rather pay a bit more to not have to deal with these problems.
“Disappointed - would have been better off in a Travel Inn etc”

“Bad bad bad”
Falling apart at the seams... not nice at all. No apparent effort to make rooms pleasant in any way. Couldnt wait to get away.
“Great location”
The hotel was ideally situated for the Cricket ground but also for other places in Birmingham. Easy to find with plenty of parking, which made our weekend trouble-free.No noise at night so we slept well too.
“Nice hotel - shame about the banging doors!”
Upon arrival we thought that this was going to be a lovely stay - friendly greeting, good service, and a lovely room. We found however a problem with banging doors! On the Saturday night there seemed to be a lot of chatter from guests outside, above and below our room (we gathered there must of been a wedding party). From 2.30 in the morning we were woken by the constant banging of doors! If left to close on their own, the doors to all bedrooms slam shut! This meant we were kept awake untill the party had finally all gone to bed. This ruined our stay.
