Convenient for NEC

Posted 10-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff were great.
Cons: Don't wash towels that don't need washing. Provide the wi-fi that's promised in the literature.
Location: It's an easy walk to the NEC, we wouldn't have been there otherwise.
It's a Premier Inn - they're all the same; useful but bland. It was comfortable and clean, and had the facilities required. However, the promise that the 30 minutes per day free wi-fi can be used in separate sessions, rather than all in one go, was a lie. I used it for 7 minutes in the morning then switched off wi-fi, came back in the evening and was told I had used up my free time. Why say 'leave your towels on the rail if you want to re-use them'? We did not leave the towels in the bath, we left them hanging up, so they should not have been changed. Premier Inn claim to be conscious of the environment etc. and encouraging reduced use of water and power, but then ignore their own policy. The nice girl on reception I discussed this with couldn't seem to understand this. The one evening meal we had was adequate, but the service was dreadfully slow, not enough staff or kitchen facilities for the large number of people I presume. The waiter knew nothing about the limited wine offered with the meal deal, and the menu wasn't much help either.

Very central for nec and area around birmingham

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Pros: Very central location and all boxes ticked
Cons: The second lift was out of action all through our stay every thing else was above average
Location: N.e.c. Complex, the l.g. Arena and very close by the motorcycle museum
We enjoyed the hotel with friendly helpful staff, with free parking, Room was comfortable with option of breakfast if needed. We were able to enjoy a drink in the lounge when we returned in the evening which was good

Usefully close to the NEC.

Posted 17-Jun-2014
Pros: Fairly quiet, compared with other Premier Inns.
Cons: The rubber flooring in the lifts has bubbled up, and could cause someone to trip up.
Location: The NEC is close, and good indian restaurants (see TripAdvisor) nearby.
Our only disappointment was not being able to book dinner on the day of our arrival, because the restaurant was so booked up!

Comfortable hotel but a bit far from the LG Arena

Posted 23-May-2014
I stayed here one night in May as I was going to a concert at the LG Arena. Whilst the hotel is fairly close to some of the NEC halls is a bit of a trek to the LG Arena. The hotel staff said it was a 20 min walk but it took me over half an hour and I walk at a fair pace. There are various other hotels that are nearer that I would choose in future. Having said that the room was comfortable and quiet and I had a good night's sleep. I didn't try breakfast as I had to leave early. Not a bad hotel, just wasn't a convenient location for me.

Premier Inn, NEC, Birmingham

Posted 22-May-2014
Pros: Good sized rooms
Cons: Food & room service
Location: 20 mins walking from NEC though not straightforward route
Clean, spacious room; friendly staff but not enough of them at busy periods; no room service; food of poor quality - mass produced, microwaved; some noise from other guests in corridor late at night despite hotel signs asking for quiet

Good location for NEC

Posted 02-May-2014
Premier Inn is becoming like the Ryan Air of hotels by charging for parking, internet and what next? Tea? Location is excellent. My parking was free but this was not well received because each day I had warning notices to cancel. Hotel duvets are generally too hot. It would be good if a sheet was available.

Pros: Clean, comfortable
Location: Good location for Airport & NEC.
Ideal location next to the NEC.Literally next door. Ideal place to stay if attending the NEC.
