“La Quinta 'rooms are always beautiful! I felt like a princess!”

This was the best hotel. Very luxurious!

Area recommendations

I am not familiar with the area but I think that hoover Alabama is very beautiful with lots of shopping and eating.

“You get what you pay for.”

First room reeked of animal urine, but we were quickly moved to a "pet-free" room that was fine. Hallways/rooms are loud as with most if not all LQs - hope that your neighbors are quiet. TV stations were out, no fix all night. Older hotel, remodeled decently. Comfy and convenient though. Decent continental breakfast. Can't complain too much, you get what you pay for.

“It's ok”

Just an older Hotel and needs remodeling. If I were to stay in Birmingham again would pick a different Hotel. Breakfast was lame. Mostly breaded ideas or sugar loaded stuff and no meat. I would prefer to spend 10 dollars more and stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

“would definantly stay again”

We were just passing thru while traveling, but were pleased, we slept to late and missed breakfast, so cannot comment on that, but staff very nice, room was clean, the only thing negative I can say is the beds could have been little more comfortable, but would definantly stay again

“Close to Birmingham”

Overall it is a good hotel for the price. Clean room, well lit outside in a good neighborhood and close to downtown Birmingham. Only gripe was check in was at 1PM. Was told to come back, so went to have lunch and returned at 3PM and room still wasn't ready. This might be due to college football nearby the night before.

“Had a decent stay but needs some minor upgrades”

I stayed there last Saturday. I had to change rooms severeal times, the first time because they have new flat screen tvs but doesnt have the hotel tv movie box in sync with the remote..So i couldn't turn on the tv. Second time because the floor was wet from the AC and it had a musty odor..The third room was great because they move me to a suite...It didnt smell as bad..But didnt have anymore problems..I hust hope the hotel takes the comments serious and do something about the minor work that needs to be done..Other than that my stay was great..The bed was soft and comfty..AC WORKS GREEAT..TV WORKS in THAT ROOM!

Area recommendations

Hoover and 280 areas has a lot of shops and eatery. Also I reccomend Shops AT Grand River..On I 459 heading towards Atlanta

“Aging Building”

This La quinta is located very conveniently. It is an aging building that needs renovating, especially the bathrooms. They serve breakfast but the quality and variety of items for the breakfast have declined over time. I have stayed at this establishment over several years due to its location but its decline is very evident these days.

“Not good”

The front desk staff was not friendly at all upon check-in. The breakfast area is too small for as many rooms as they have. The room was not clean and the coffee pot still had the coffee grounds from the previous renter in the holder. I don't normally stay at this type of hotel and now I know why.
