It's just a bit tired now and there are better hotels in the same location.

Good hotel convenient for nec events

Posted 22-Feb-2015
Very nice hotel and reasonably priced. bathrooms could do with a refurb and cleanliness isn't the highest priority but still good hotel. Food isn't great but there isn't any alternatives. Very overpriced food. Would suggest heading out to find a local pub If you can.

The hotel is very convenient for NEC. We were very impressed with the attitude of all the staff who made our stay special.

Very busy

Posted 19-Feb-2015
Pros: The reception, and the breakfast room which was lovely in the morning.
Cons: More organised booking system for eating. Perhaps on arrival at the desk.
Location: Location was very good for where we wanted to be, although we were not visiting the NEC.
The hotel felt really lovely on arrival in the reception, but we were not able to order a table for dinner at reception because it was so busy. After dropping off the bags we went to sort out a meal downstairs but there were not enough seats in the bar area for us to sit, (it was huge),and an hours waiting time for food there, we asked at a la carte and they were fully booked, and the buffet dining room was bursting at the seams and very noisy but we could eat there if we waited an hour, so we did, walking around with a drink! As it is at the NEC we really did not want to go somewhere else to eat. We found it too big to enjoy, there was nothing relaxing about the stay apart from the beds. Our cheap deal of an overnight stay cost us a fortune. The drinks bill was horrendous!

Close to NEC but very noisy.

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: All good apart from the noise.
Great location for the NEC and breakfast was good. Now for the but, being so close to the NEC its full of reps working at the trade shows. Which results in lots of drunken antics and noise. My room was located close to the lift meant all night long various tones of screaming, laughing, shouting etc. I heard in the foyer other guests moaning about the noise.Their problem was from the room close by to them and they called security a number of times. They were apparently warned repeatedly to keep the noise down but it still persisted until 6am!! I appreciate hotels cannot choose their guest but this must be a common occurrence here. .

A good hotel but be prepared for expenses.

Excellent location for NEC, airport and within easy reach of central city. Staff welcoming and helpful. Room very comfortable. Excellent breakfast with enough choice for fussiest of diners. Pool looked great although I didn't have time to use it. My only complaint would be exorbitant bar prices, £9.90 for a glass of wine is hard to justify, particularly when compared to a very reasonably priced chessboard which I accompanied the wine with. Had I been staying with the family a round of drinks would have cost almost as much as the room! Overall a very pleasant short stay.

The rooms are tired, one of the rooms did not have the complimentary toiletries in, and the other room had used soap put back in the box

perfect but expensive

Posted 07-Feb-2015
Pros: closeness to the Nec
Cons: the food menu in the main bar , drop the prices ,
Location: great for NEC
well located for business when exhibiting at the NEC , we found it very expensive to eat and drink there , brilliant staff and a welcome upgrade to a executive suite
