Very convenient for the LG Arena.

Posted 27-Dec-2014
Cons: It was quite noisy, that was the only downside, but it was a Saturday night - probably to be expected.
Location: Excellent for the LG Arena.
Within walking distance of the LG Arena, excellent stay after a gig.

Very convenient

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: Comfortable and friendly.
Cons: New TVs
Very convenient for NEC. Parking was full and after driving round and round their car parks, I stopped outside foyer and asked concierge. He was immediately helpful and told me to park just a few yards down outside their Monarch Suite. All the staff were most helpful.

I visited this hotel for a overnight stay to see the clothes show live in the NEC. My daughter and I had a comfortable nights sleep and the staff were very friendly,

Good overnight stay

Posted 09-Dec-2014
Pros: Overall the hotel was very good. Staff polite and friendly.
Cons: Breakfast Food temperature Attention to detail Guest observation
Location: Within walking distance if National Exhibition Centre - lots going on
The lobby in the hotel was buzzing welcoming - with a subtle smell of Christmas fragrance. I loved the gingerbread village centre piece. Room was good with everything you need for an overnight stay or longer. Gifts were available to purchase at reasonable prices. My only criticism would be our breakfast experience . Good choice but some cooked food was cold. We put orange juice on the table and when we returned from fetching our food the table had been cleared - we had only just been shown the table. I didn't expect this! A muffin and a roll had been dropped on the floor and this was just left - again I didn't expect this at The Hilton.

Hotel ten minutes walk to the NEC

Posted 09-Dec-2014
Pros: The hotel was very large, warm and inviting, very organised. The staff very helpful and friendly. The pool was warm. The hotel was very clean.
Cons: The bed was a bit uncomfortable, and the refreshment tray could have had more milk cartons. as I don't think six is enough.
Location: The location was ideal for what I wanted as I had only ten minutes walk to the clothes show located in the NEC.
I stayed at the Hilton from Friday to Sunday morning. Experienced the spa facilities, and the in house restaurants highly recommended with great service. Very calming hotel.

Nothing was too much trouble

Posted 01-Dec-2014
From the moment I entered to the moment I left, the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The room was spotless and comfy. There was a problem with the TV and phone in my room which was very quickly resolved and I was offered a complimentary bottle of wine for my trouble. Breakfast was buffet style but there was a wide variety of choice, all very tasty. The only thing I found a bit annoying was the location of the TV. I had to sit on the bed to watch it, although the bed was very comfy.

Good for the NEC with a lovely walk

Posted 01-Dec-2014
Pros: Near to the NEC and not a bad walk either.
Cons: Get h/keeping staff to look up when cleaning. Get TV boosters in place for such rooms as 1225.
Location: Everything to do at the NEC
Have stayed here a number of times before as we attend the BBC Good Food Show (Winter). This visit was definitely not the best. I had booked an Executive Twin Room. Bus transfer from Birmingham International Rail station was on time, driver just needed to smile a little more. We arrived to a quick friendly check in and got our keys and dropped our bags in the room. Our room was 1225. We left the hotel and on our return had dinner then went into the executive lounge (relocated for the night due to numbers) and enjoyed our two hours of free refreshments and nibbles. When we returned to our room we noticed a few items missing e.g. dressing gown and slippers, water and the TV picture was so bad with lines I called maintenance - having checked that the leads were all plugged in. Maintenance told me that there is a problem with this side of the hotel we were in and the TVs needed boosters! So if Hilton maintenance staff know this, why has nothing been done? So after contacting housekeeping for dressing gown and slippers and having two visits from maintenance and a changed aerial lead we settled down for the night. When I showered next morning, I looked up at the shower extractor fan which was covered in fluff, dust YUK. Had I seen that the previous day I would have asked for a room change. I put my comments on their response card ..... so will what happens next. We checked out next morning quickly.

Close proximity to LG Arena and NEC

Posted 30-Nov-2014
So close to so much is the main reason to stay here. The hotel could be so much better with just a little more care with detail. E.g. Where are the stairs - they are not signed? We were only on the 1st floor but waited an eternity for the lifts - when we did find the stairs - we realised why they were kept hidden. But clean, comfortable and good for a night's sleep - very much like a Premier Inn or Travelodge.

Perfect to go to the NEC or Arena

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Staff were very helpful and tried to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint was that there was an old specials menu in the bar, which we tried to order from! The food we had in the end was very tasty though. Some of the fittings in the bedroom were a bit tired and worn.
