Nothing special

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Family room means that they expect 2 adults and 2 kids sleep in 1 bed.and bcos you are with small kids they will give you the worst room on the end of corridor. Shower is like from last century- how you can wash yourself or kids properly if you can not move head of shower? ? So summer promotion for families not good at all.

Good Hotel with Very Good Staff

Posted 09-Aug-2014
Pros: Staff, food, leisure facilities and it's close proximity to NEC.
Cons: Doors to be fitted to the open plan toilet!! Beds lowered
Location: Was attending an exhibition at the NEC so did not venture further
All in all a good stay BUT first night was very noisy because room was over the hotels air conditioning unit. Rooms were changed after complaining. Staff on reception were excellent in getting room changed. The single rooms at the hotel have been refurbished taking open plan to a new level. Alas there are no doors on the toilet, very disconcerting. The beds are so - high 27 1/2" - off the floor the someone, like me who is only 4' 11" found it extremely difficult getting in and out of bed

Great hotel for conferences and convenience to BHX

Posted 07-Aug-2014
Fantastic hotel with really great staff. They are friendly, polite, helpful and really knowledgeable. The room was really comfortable and had everything that I needed to make my stay excellent. The food in the Lounge was really tasty and the menu had a great selection. The staff were attentive and caring. Breakfast was top class, staff were efficient and friendly again and there was excellent choice also.

Room telephone & room service

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Room telephones did not work. 11/2 hours to get a sandwich to our room via room service. Had to go to concierge twice and then reception in order to even get room service. First ordered at 9pm delivered 10:30 pm

Good facilities clear to NEC and station

Posted 03-Aug-2014
Pros: We liked the fact that it had a gym and pool which were free to use
I stayed here during the Summer for a few days in one of the Deluxe rooms. Was very impressed with the hotel which had a pool, gym and spa. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was modern and clean. The hotel isn't in the middle of Birmingham but it's about a ten minute walk through the NEC to Birmingham Int airport/railway or the hotel do a bus there every half an hour. The trains into Birmingham and elsewhere are regular and take around 10 minutes. We got a very good deal on our room through expedia making it cheaper than other lower quality hotels!

Very convenient hotel for the NEC but......

Posted 11-Jul-2014
The hotel was very busy the night we stayed, which isn't a problem as the hotel is larger enough but it is a problem when the smoking area is just by every exit so when ever we walked in or out you had to fight your way through the people and their smoke. To top it off as we were trying to go sleep with a very uncomfortable bed and a sorry excuse for a pillow a lot of people were out at the front of the hotel ( our room was above the front door) talking and smoking, so we closed the window and put on the air con, not only could we still hear a muffled sound of people talking the smell of smoke came through the air con vents so had to switch that off, we finally fell asleep at 4am. Though I have to say the staff were very friendly and helpful.

OK, not much better

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Staying as part of conference hosted by hotel, have done the same 2 years ago. Good location for travel from GB and beyond. Motorways close, short walk from station, short taxi from airport. Check in good. Single room narrow and functional, shower almost claustrophobic. Pool very visible, windows all around. Not sure I'd use unless I had a six pack (I haven't). Gym equipment above average. Bar very slow service, surprised me and possibly hotel as to how much and how late a Methodist conference would use bar. Started with bar snacks, good, but some in our party wanted sit down meal, poor. £28 for very average buffet. Breakfast £10 if booked in advance or at check in, just about worth it, but tempting to wander into NEC for better value

Fantastic hotel close to LG Arena

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: Everything, we will definitely stay again.
Location: If you are attending the NEC or LG Areana then I would recommend this hotel as its minutes away.
We stayed here on the 7th July as we booked to attended a concert at the LG Arena in the evening. I can not fault the hotel, everything was great, helpful staff, everywhere was clean, breakfast was good with plenty of choice, service was good in the restaurant.
