“A little hard to find, but worth the effort”

“Comfortable hotel”

If you are looking for maid service everyday and free items in the room, look elsewhere. This hotel charges $1.75 for the second and subsequent coffee packs in your room. And you have to go get them yourself! The maids are "once a week" unless you want clean sheets, then turn in the others and they will give you fresh ones. Same thing for towels. But the hotel is comfortable, affordable, in a great neighborhood and clean. If you are looking for longer than a couple days then you can use the kitchen items and cook in the room. This is my second time at this hotel and for the price I will most likely stay again. I'll just bring my own coffee.

“Giant cockroach in room but otherwise great stay, great $”

Husband & I stayed here last year (oct 2009) & LOVED it. Three issues this time: 1. Giant (2.5") cockroach was in our room crawling up our wall by the kitchenette. We removed the cockroach ourselves as there was no one at the front lobby. 2. Front lobby was not staffed that often. 3. Same as last year, street signage is very poor. US280 needs better signage as the hotel is not easily visable from the street. Low price makes up for the cockroach & lack of signs. We'll be back next year!

“Candlewood doesnt change the sheets”

It doesnt mention it on the website but if you want clean sheets or towels, go to the front desk and get them yourself. Same for any amenities in the room. They have a pantry that requires a key card to get in. There you can choose from several items, including snacks and toiletries, for a price of course. The coffee maker in my room was missing a piece, when told about it the front desk clerk told me they are all that way. She insisted nothing is missing. Try making coffee without the little basket that holds the coffee packet. Other than those things the hotel was nice enough and cheap enough. There are several restaurants within a mile of the hotel and one that is in walking distance.

“awesome place to stay”

We loved the kitchen area, it was a definite plus! The separate bedroom away from the main room and kitchen were awesome!

“Brest pet friendly hotel in Birmingham”

The hotel has 8 free washers and dryers, a work out room and a small convenience store. Its wireless internet service worked great. Its in a nice part of town with plenty of restaurants nearby, two within walking distance. When I got to the hotel I informed them that I had a pet but the guy at the desk told me not to worry about it. They normally charge a $75 non-refundable fee. Nearby there are places to let your pet off the leash to roam and excersize. There is one other hotel next door and an old folks home. Very little activity in the immediate area. If your not familiar with Birmingham, its beautiful. Neighborhoods are surrounded by forrested hills.

“Good value”

Nice clean hotel, and a very good value. Will stay there again. It is a little difficult to find the hotel. No signs pointing to the hotel from the main road.

“Extremely Nice !!”

This hotel has suites that are accommodated with a stove, ref. microwave, and dishwasher. The room was very nice. Nice closet for clothes and a nice size bathroom. The room had a recliner, table with chairs and t.v. in a cabinet with drawers for clothing. We were very impressed with the room and we got an awesome rate on the room with Expedia.

“Quality expected, quality received”

There's nothing like the convenience and comfort of home and I felt very much at home at this hotel.
