“A very nice experience and will definetly stay there again”

This was my first time booking online for a hotel which I was very skeptical to say the least. I was looking to stay on the beach and was looking at the condo's located there but their fees were way too high for my budget. I read the reviews on other hotels but they didn't seem close enough to the beach. Even though this one had a 2 for a rating, which doesn't make since to me beacuse our stay was wonderful it was just across the street from the beach. The front desk clerk was very polite and helpful to us, actually everyone there was. Our room was clean and had a fresh scent to it as we entered. I had brought down my husband's bike so he could ride it once more before being deloyed to Afganistan and instead of having us park it in the back with our trailer they said we could park in under the awning out front of the doors. Which that was really nice considering that is his pride and joy (ha ha). They also have a pool so you can relax and go for a swim if you don't want to go into the ocean. They offered a contiential breakfast until 10:30 but kept it open a little bit later. I can't say anything bad about this hotel.

Area recommendations
Ocean City is only about 20 minutes or so from Biloxi. If you love shrimp than I suggest the harbor where the boats come in, they sell shrimp right off the boat. They are hugh I am talking about the tail alone are about 4 inches in lenght we bought we spent $20.00 on the shrimp which wasn't bad at all considering what we pay for them here in Ohio and the shrimps are small. We took them to the beach which was right across from the hotel and cooked them along with corn, potatoes(made a boil with seasoning) and had some steak. Sat on the beach with the kids, ate the awsome dinner and watched the beatiful sunset.
When to go
I went the last week in October which the weather was nice, cool in the morning and comfortable in the afternoon (@81) and then cooled back off in the evening. The beach wasn't packed at all probably because of the temperatures. Which was nice for us.
What to pack
Definitely take a couple of long sleeve shirts or a sweat shirt. Shorts, and short sleeve shirts. It's up to you if you want to take a bathing suite, the water is colder at that time.
Dining
The place I would most definitely eat at again would be Steve's Marina which is located in Gulfport. The portions are hugh and are price reasonable. They have a very friendly staff and watching the sunset on the deck overlooking the boat dock was memorable and very peaceful.
Outdoors or beach
The beach didn't have hardly any people walking it or swimming in the ocean. This could be due to the time we went. But it was nice not feeling crowded and having the beach pretty much to ourselves.

“Would love to stay again, and soon!”

Right across from the gulf of Mexico, so very accomodating when walking to the beautiful beach! Restaurants and shopping are close by, as well as casinos (shuttles are available to local casinos). Room was clean, breakfast area was well maintained and stocked. Friendly staff was prompt when attention was needed, and super knowledgable and happy to serve their customers, even giving advice on local entertainment and eateries. In fact, I noticed that they were accomodating in situations that they were not necessarily responsible for - taking tasks they did not have to do. Although the remote did not work for the TV in our room, the maintenence man was very fast in trying to locate the problem, and was tenacious in his efforts to repair/replace the remote. The air conditioning was super cool, and the pool was clean and well maintained (just a little small). Thanks for a super stay! I hope to return soon!

Area recommendations
Most shopping and excellent restaurants can be found on HWY 49 in Gulfport. Biloxi offers a great mall - Edgewater Mall - right on the ocean. Christian Pass road is popular, with Cajun's Chicken Buffet being a favorite of ours. It offers "home cookin'" at a great price. Delicious "from scratch" recipes, a friendly staff, clean and well-stocked makes this place a must-go! If you like chinese food, a great buffet is Royal's Chinese on 49. Lots of different dishes there, and great staff, clean and well - stocked, also. If you like bargains, Dirt Cheap and Hudson's Treasure Chest are great places to go - just be prepared to examine your merchandise before purchasing. Great stuff, though, and cheap!

“OK for the money”

Staff very friendly and helpful, nice pool, walk across the street to get to the beach, not the greatest, but certainly a fair value for the price of the room.

Area recommendations
Hotel right on Beach Blvd and very convenient to area attractions and the beach.
Dining
The Shed barbeque across the bay, in the Ocean Springs area, satisfied even Texas customers, a dive, but fun, reasonably priced and family friendly. The child's plate of ribs was plenty for me.

“Can't wait to go back!! Super friendly staff!!!”

The staff makes this hotel fantastic! The best customer service ever. Even the breakfast is refilled and maintained up to the closing time of 10am, other places we have stayed if you are late they are out of everything good, not here. The room cleaning staff honors every request and excedes expectations. We can not praise the customer service enough!

Area recommendations
The Beach (for obvious reasons), and Boomtown Casino, because they had the same level of customer service as Ramada, and the BEST buffet!

“Great place to stay”

I was very impressed with the room. It was very clean and decorated in an up to date tasteful way. The swimming pool was not very large, but was kept immaculate. There wasn't a spec of debris in the water. The personnel were friendly but not overly so. The only problem I had was my room hadn't gotten clean one day. I had the "do not disturb" sign on the door early in the morning but had removed it by 9 am. It wasn't that big a deal. I just exchanged my towels with the desk later that evening when I got in.

Area recommendations
Anything by the beach, of course, but truthfully the beach in Biloxi is not very nice right now. We went to Dauphin Island during our stay and it was much nicer.

“Sheets had stains on them-take your own bed linens”

Overall the stay was OK. However when we first got there we checked the bed sheets and cover. The sheets had stains on them as well as the cover. Also the chair in the room had several stains. Luckily we brought our own since we've seen this before at other hotels. The staff was very friendly and knew the area well. Since our trip was to be cut short I spoke with Daffney at the front desk about getting another room for the last night and she said no. I was shocked that they didn't have another room on a Monday evening. Most other guest had checked out so I knew this not to be true. I had also spoken with her on the phone prior to our trip and told her of the plan to leave early. Since I had made the arrangements online (Expedia) and paid for the room far in advance,. she said she'd call me back and let me know. She said there was no refund but she'd call me back. She never called and once we were there and I spoke with her, she was quite rude. I will not stay there again.

Area recommendations
I would recommend they pay a little extra and stay in one of finer hotels. After all, you get what you pay for and I guess that's what we got. Next time I go there I will stay at the Hard Rock or one of the other large hotels in Biloxi.

“Don't stop here.”

The hotel was filthy. One trip across the room blackened the bottom of the white socks I was wearing. It shouldn't be listed on Expedia's website or carry Ramada's formerly respectable name. I learned a tough lesson about prepaying for a hotel room. When my work in the area was done, I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

“Definitely would stay here again”

While in Biloxi, we stayed one night at a casino hotel. The experience there was awful. We then checked in to the Ramada and were pleased from the first minute. Check in was very smooth, and the evening desk clerk was very personable and helpful. He had great recommendations for restaurants and could give directions to anywhere we asked.
