“Very convenient”

Very nice hotel, only a 15 min walk to the bus station with regular buses to the airport and only 15 mins in the opposite direction to the like of the Guggenheim. Friendly staff and excellent room

“Overal good.”

The hotel was ok . some of receptionists know some English and helpful. The free shuttle to airport was terrible and driver know a word of English. dropped of us in wrong terminal and had to walk to the other terminal with 3 logs. for 15 min. inside the airport.

Downtown, Grand Via. Check the internet sites.
When to go
Don't go there in July and August it is too hot. A lot of places to see and you need 3-4 days. Taxi drivers charge u a lot to take to around.

“Excellent hotel in middle of Bilbao”

This hotel is only 20 minutes walk from Guggenheim Museum and bus station and is only a few minutes walk from the nearest metro station which is useful for the old town. The hotel invites you in with a massive lobby area where the staff were really helpful. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a large bath which seem to be a bit of a rarity these days as hotels strive to save space by installing showers only. Breakfast was adequate with lots of choice. All in all I think we made an excellent choice.

“Navidad at Indautxu”

See above review. In addition, the price for the Christmas holidays was reasonable, in particular for what I would consider a four-star hotel.

Area recommendations
We recommend the Old Town area of Bilbao; it's called the Casco Viejo. The streets are charmingly narrow, the shops and restaurants in abundance. One caution about this: Make sure that if you want a full meal that you go to a restaurant before 3:00 p.m. or after 8:00 p.m. In-between, there's not much to offer. Tapas and pintxos start about 7:00 p.m. in most bars, but you have to choose the bars well, and they are just appetizers. The circle just outside the Casco Viejo is a good place to start, as well as the streets just off the Poza Licenciado. It took some readjustment of our routine to get used to the schedule of the restaurants and bars. Visit the Guggenheim Museum. The building is marvelous, although the art leaves much to be desired. Eating in the cafeteria there is fine but pricey. The metro is easy to navigate, and visiting the Puente Colgante is well worth the trip.
Getting around
Use the Metro. You can buy the tickets in a vending machine, much like the machines in the Washington, D. C. area. For a one-way trip, choose "Una Ocasion." For a two-way trip, choose "Ida y Vuelta." The signs are well placed, and once you've looked at a map, you'll be able to navigate it easily. Although the metro is not extensive, it does run to some of the key locations in Bilbao. One that it does not run to is the Guggenheim Museum. From the Silken Indautxu Hotel, we took a taxi for less than Euros. It was well worth the money.

“Would definitely recommend for a short trip to Bilbao”

We stayed two nights here in July 09 at the start of our holiday in Northern Spain.It is easy to find and centrally placed for visiting Bilbao places of interest. The staff were very welcoming and even let us check in at 8:30 am as we arrived from the ferry. We had no problems sorting out the nearby underground car park as the staff took us to it. The room was quiet,clean and felt spacious.Original works of art decorate the hotel in keeping with the character of the city. The buffet breakfast was extensive,fresh cheeses,cold meats,fresh fruit and a wide range of local pastries. They even privided Rioja for those who wanted to start drinking early! We did not use the restaurant but did eat in the cafeteria and enjoyed our meal from the menu del dia. All the staff were friendly and helpful,most understood a little English.

Traveller's tip
We got a map of Bilbao from the hotel and easily found our way around on foot. Another couple in the hotel reported they had used the public transport (metro and bus)and were very impressed by the efficiency and cleanliness.

“Great Hotel”

Lovely Hotel. This was my 3rd trip to Bilbao and I chose this hotel as it was close to relatives and quite central. I would not hesitate to stay again. The bed was so comfortable and choice of pillows great. Only downside was that the minibar did not seem to be too cold but could not fault the hotel otherwise. Nice Cafeteria and the staff were very friendly. Stay here - no problems.

Turn left when leaving hotel and walk straight down until you come to Chicken places - you cannot miss them - yum

“Cool Oasis”

Bilbao can get quite hot and it's always very noisy, so after a day out and about it was very nice to get back to a quiet air conditioned room. The entrance hall to the hotel is vast and includes the bar and a very large seating area - this also feels nice and cool when returning.

Traveller's tip
Use the Metro to go along the river and out to the coast. Algorta is on the estuary but has a lovely old port area where you can wander down - past (or not) many bars - the promenade is lovely. Other resorts are the stops at the end of the Metro that are on the open sea.

“Good value”

Good location, easy walking distance to Guggenheim, however without a helpful staff member in the car we would never have found the parking, because of the one way system. Lovely room. Best breakfast buffet in a long time! Restaurant was not open for evening meals (Sunday)and cafe menu is limited. Free WiFi works in room even though they say lobby only

“Hotel has no internet in rooms.”

The hotel for the price paid is a good deal. It has a good restaurant with a few spanish specialties, the service there is good. The receptionist was a bit mean. The hotel is close to the train station and bars nearby. Good for leasure not for business.
