“Inexpensive but comfortable and neat hotel.”

I was looking for a hotel in the old town section of Bilbao, but also one that had easy access to the Guggenheim Museum, the town's newest treasure. Because I was also paying for a room at my primary location, I was looking for the most inexpensive available that still was comfortable, safe, easily accessible (no steps because I use a walker), and attractive. The Bilbao Jardines filled the bill. Because it was new, it was in superb condition, which many of the older, perhaps more atmospheric hotels were not. The price was excellent, the location terrific, and the service excellent--a definite winner in the lower price category.

Area recommendations
Old town is a perfect place to stay, with many points of interest within walking distance. The Guggenheim museum is about a 20 minute walk, or a quick ride on the tram a block from the hotel.
