“Wonderful Accomodations”
The Rock River Hotel is a beautiful property conveniently located to all recreational opportunities near Lone Mountain, excellent for a summer, fall and winter get- away. The rooms are plush and roomy and the service friendly and efficient.
“Great Stay”
A great inn at a very reasonable rate. A five minute drive from Big Sky ski area, beautifully furnished, nice breakfast. No complaints whatsoever, except for the -25 weather we experienced there in early February. Guess they couldn't do anything about that.
“Great Hotel! Great Price!”
Extreamly nice room and a great location! Would definitely recommend! Lots of local shopping and restaurants.
“Good stay, even if you don't intend to ski.”
The Lodge was very satisfactory. About the only thing I can say in the negative mode is the horrible sound the bathroom fan made and a lack of a bathtub mat. The fact that they had a VCR in the room instead of a Disc Player was very strange. But all this didn't really matter to me since I was there for Yellowstone and beautiful Montana and really didn't have time for movies anyway. Oh...be sure to get your room on the east side of the Lodge or the bar/pizza place next door where the locals get drunk might keep you up a bit, but only every other night. This is Montana after all. In the positive light, the management was very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and well tended and the beds comfy as all get out. It is smack in the middle of some jaw droppingly gorgeous country as well. There are many excellent places to eat. When you're there, go to Bucks T4 Restaurant and order some great elk tenderloin! Allgoods has a superb breakfast.
“Beautiful place to stay in a beautiful town of Big Sky, which is really under Big Sky”
Excellent place to stay. Hotel was beautiful, cozy and very relaxing... Well furnished, well maintained rooms with friendly frontdesk... It was an amazing place to stay for our amazing vacation to Big Sky and Yellow Stone... Its very near to BIG SKY town center, which is a amazingly beautiful place. The entire town looks like a fairy tale setup over looking mountains (including Lone mountain) and forest, which is very picturesque... All in all, a wonderful experience...
“Excellent Hotel -- We Would Go Back.”
Very nice hotel. It's nonsmoking, and you can sit in their great-looking lobby and use their wireless net to get e-mail and sip coffee. As the visitor, you have control of the heater / AC and can even open a window. Nice restaurants right next to the hotel. Comfy beds; clean; nice managers, yummy continental breakfast. This one was recommended to us, and we would definitely stay here again.
“Great Stay!!!”
This was a great place to stay in Big Sky. Check-in was smooth after a long day of skiiing. No elevator, but the person at the desk at check-in helped us with our bags to our room. Then later brought towels out to us soaking in the hot tub. Comfortable beds, comfortable room, very nice. The breakfast was a little wimpy with limited seating, but got us what we needed for another day of skiing.
“Nice place not impressed with owner”
The hotel was nice and clean. Front desk staff was nice and helpful but the owner to the hotel was very rude to us after we checked out. I was very surprised because his staff was so nice and helpful. I have never experienced an owner of a business being so rude to his customers. He was very upset because we used the bathroom in the lobby after we checked out and left our truck in the parking lot while we went skiing. We also did not find the value great. We went on to stay and ski at Jackson Hole and Sun Valley Idaho and had nicer accommodations for less cost. The other places both offered a good stay and ski package.
“Best deal in Big Sky”
Our experience at River Rock Lodge was great. We were in Montana for our daughter's wedding and the location was excellent. The rooms were large and comfortable, the service was good and the price was a very good deal. The guests and staff were very friendly, and the smaller size of the lodge was conducive to amiable chats across the breakfast table. The lodge was no more than 10 minutes from several ski locations, including Big Sky. There was a small collection of village shops in the town center, including a restaurant, store and many ski and outdoor outfitters. The rooms included a refrigerator, and a microwave was available in the dining area. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.
“Great location for hikes, resturants, biking”
Staff helpful, an excelent value.
