Hotel not very full, so was only person in the bar. Room small, but had everything I needed. Breakfast service a little slow with no welcoming member of staff, eventually she appeared to take the order. Opposed to this, really nicely cooked breakfast.
Overall, Characterful hotel, Nothing major to complain about, just a shame bar area was dead due to lack of guests.
Nicely decorated room in converted stables. Really good breakfast and excellent tea and coffee in the rooms. Only downside was because of the sloping roof, there wasn't space to sit up in bed. Staff were excellent though and we enjoyed our stay.
This B&B is the best we have stayed in. The setting is picturesque the facilities are outstanding and the hosts are genuine and extremely friendly. The breakfasts are prepared using fresh local produce and are delicious. We would certainly stay there again
Amazing! Met with very friendly and personal welcome. Room was extremely comfortable with an immaculate bathroom and lovely views of the garden. Absolutely lovely experience thanks to exceptionally helpful manager and staff, great food and service. Despite being busy with two day's of weddings, nothing was too much trouble and questions were always met with a smile and lots of help from whichever member of the team it happened to be. It was a remarkable and very enjoyable experience and quite unlike any other hotel I've ever stayed in around the world. Ideally located for Battle, Hastings and beyond amid Sussex's glorious countryside. Highly recommend it and will definitely return.

There was a very noisy water system in the eaves of the room which woke us up at 6.30am when the host had to get up. This was a rare night away from small children, so we were desperately needing and looking forward to a long overdue lie in to recharge our batteries. This, to us, was one of the main benefits of the night away, so it was hugely disappointing not to be able to have a couple of extra hours sleep. This had a big impact on our whole weekend and it was further disappointing when there seemed to be a lack of understanding when the issue was regrettably raised. He did apologise but it was followed with the fact that it was the cheapest of the 3 rooms they had, the water system had to go somewhere and that was the time he had to get up. It was also pointed out that he hadn't had other complaints. Unless other guests were very heavy sleepers I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have been woken up. Maybe they could get back to sleep quicker, so it bothered them less, but it takes me a long time to get back to sleep and each time before I could, it would go off again. I don't think the price of the room should mean that we should expect to be woken up early, so don't feel that is a justification. If we were expecting to be woken up that early we wouldn't have booked at all. Such a shame, as the rest of the place was to a very high standard and a thoroughly lovely, peaceful, relaxing setting. It was lovely to be in the countryside with the cat, dogs and chickens.
