Great stay in a great place
A good location, not far from the train station 10-15 min walk. Free bus ticket provided once we had checked in but didn’t really need it as we were happy to walk and take in the atmosphere of Grindelwald. A quiet time of year (Nov 2019) with a lot of hotels and restaurants closed and getting prepared for December and winter-rush. Still, we had lots of places to chose from. Grindelwald is an excellent location and more to do (non-ski) than Kleine Scheidegg. Also an easy train trip back to Interlaken if Jungfraujoch is closed due to weather extremes. We got to Jungfraujoch on the Sunday morning and although visibility not great on the day, it was one of the most amazing places we have been to. The people are great, extremely friendly and helpful - envelopes if our Swiss-German was not up to speed. The Steinbeck Hotel was great - food, room, pizza, and bar, Thanks to everyone

This property definitely caters for large tour buses, not the independent traveller. The rooms and hotel staff were as you would expect, but the affiliated Italian restaurant onsite that caters the breakfast fell well below expectation. The restaurant and breakfast area was infested with flies and, when asked to improve the situation, the restaurant staff shrugged their shoulders. Almost nothing was left for breakfast after the busses departed and what was was covered in flies. The hotel reception was responsive, but the restaurant aspect needs to be greatly improved.

Right next door to Grindelwald First cable car
Located right next to Grindlewald First cable car. Room was simple and spacious. Bathrooms were clean. Parking was free behind hotel. Hard to get in as parking was very full so have to be careful with reversing on a hill. No safe or kettle in the room.

Authentic Swiss Alps Hotel
This hotel is in a great location, right at the base of a gondola and above a popular restaurant and bar with great food. The staff and owners were super friendly and the breakfast superb. A beautiful setting with amazing views even from our bedroom windows.

Very hot and small room, and the roof with window which let us hard to fall asleep as it is too bright. Overall comment not so good and won’t recommend other to stay if have better choice.

It was one of the best hotels we stayed in Switzerland. We really liked the room. The only negative thing was that the WiFi was on and off though it wasn’t really a big deal for us.

Great hotel by the Eiger Mountai
Lovely small hotel opposite Eiger Mountain. There are larger hotels there but if you want a smaller with staff who recognise you thus is perfect.

convenient for a Jungfraujoch vacation
The hotel is situated in Grindelwald, a town very close to the best parts of the Swiss alps, whether you choose to take the train up or to do a 10-hour round-trip hike like we did to see the Jungfraujoch, the summit of Europe. The hotel service was okay. The front desk wasn't always attended, probably because it's the off-season. Sometimes the hotel restaurant staff came over to help when nobody was at the front desk. People were generally very friendly. The room has decent heating, which is essential, but it could be a little hot and dry. Our room was spacious and had two bathrooms with a standing shower in one and bath tub in another. There were small packages of shower gel/shampoo. Very basic but should do. The water pressure was good. The beds were fine, but the pillows were terrible, felt like nothing was there. Both my husband and I had to fold it twice to be able to fall asleep. The room was clean. The neighborhood is quiet. It's not a luxury place, but for an average traveller it's just fine.

Great Location
Everything was great, the restaurant food very good and service attentive maybe breakfast could be a little more like the restaurant, but to be fair it was out of season and very quite, overall great value for money.

No View at all from the hotel
I hated my stay. This hotel DOESN'T have any views of beautiful Grindelwald. The only thing you can see from your room is another hotel's guest rooms. That's it. If you want to stay in Grindelwald please consider other hotels since there are many hotels that have a wonderful view from your room. Breakfast was included in your stay but there was nothing to eat.

Bella la struttura e confortevole la stanza, con due bagni. Hotel comodo ai principali servizi con annesso ristorante di buona cucina italiana. Solo un po' troppo calde le camere e scarsi i posti per parcheggiare.

Der Steinbock ist ein schön und gut geführter Familienbetrieb, freundlich und zuvorkommend! Lage zum OEV und zur Firstbahn sehr gut. Was uns weniger gefallen hat: Abfallcontainer vor dem Fenster, Parkplatzprobleme, dürftiges Frühstücksbuffet und 17cm Bildschirm im Nebenzimmer! Unbequem zum Fernsehen am Abend.Bis auf die paar Kleinigkeiten waren wir zufrieden!

During the check-in the woman that was there didn't say anything about the discount card that every person that stays in Grindenwald receives (for free). That card gives you discount in several activities, as well as free transport in the city and some other amenities. The WIFI was also going down from 10 to 10 minutes during our entire staying. The breakfast was the most terrible thing I have ever seen in a hotel. For the price I paid I was expecting way more than what we got - yes, it was very expensive. Some people from the staff were nice (the waitresses) but the people in the reception desk was awful. They acted like they don't care at all with their guests. Would never come back to this hotel.

그린델발트역에서 다소 멀지만 시설에 만족합니다.
그린델발트 역에서는 도보 15분 이내로 다소거리가 있습니다. 호텔스닷컴에 위치가 잘 못 표시되어있는 것으로 보입니다. 숙소가 깨끗하고 아늑하게 느껴졌습니다. 욕실 수압도 세서 좋았으며, 일층에 레스토랑도 맛있었습니다. 조식은 종류가 많지는 않습니다. 덕분에 즐거운 추억 앉고 갑니다.

Haben 1 Nacht dort übernachtet. Schönes, sauberes Zimmer ziemlich im Zentrum von Grindelwald. Bisschen Teuer für das Angebot. Zu erwähnen ist die Diskothek vis a vis vom Hotel. Die hat uns aber nicht gestört.

Immer wieder in dieses Hotel
Sehr gutes Hotel, ruhige schöne Zimmer. In unserem Zimmer grosses Bett, Sitzecke, Badezimmer Dusche WC. Sep. WC . Der Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Einziger negativ Punkt. Die Preise für das Essen im Restaurant etwas zu hoch, war aber sonst in Ordnung.

Im Zimmer Kissen nicht fest genugn für mich. Gegenüber des Hotels ist eine Diskothek. Die Leute kommen raus und diskutieren noch eine Weile auf dem Trottoir oder warten auf einem Taxi. Mit einem Zimmer an der Seite der Strasse war es manchmal ein wenig ungemütlich, wegen des lärmes. Sonst im Hotel war alles OK.

Great location, ok hotel
The hotel is a bit too pricey for what you get: the beds are uncomfortable and the breakfast buffet is a bit poor for a 3-star hotel - at 8am breakfast most things in the buffet were already finished and were being replenished. On the + side the pizzeria is very good and the location is extremely convenient. Their free parking consists of only 3 parking spots though!
