A lesson learned days before my stay at the Derby was that while visiting Switzerland as an American used to A/C, I must forever filter hotel results by having A/C because it is NOT a given that Swiss Hotels have A/C. The Derby says that it's rooms have A/C but when they are locked and unable to be adjusted, it quickly starts to feel like I was cheated. Call me CrAzY but 23c/75° might be cooler than outside but in Summer is still way warmer than what I would have wanted.
Which leads me to the grumps running this place. From the moment we arrived and checked into room it began. There were 3 of us in a room. Immediately after arriving from a day of travel from Lautenbrunen my friend hopped, rather squeezed into the bathroom to realize there were 2x bath towels for the 3 of us. Realizing there may not be 24H reception, I quickly went back out to front desk before ink from check-in forms had time to dry to inquire about a 3rd bath towel.
"THERE ARE 3 IN THERE!" She exclaimed
Caught off guard by intensity of the response and confident that my friend could handle counting to 3, I challenged the count a second time, before offering the woman to come in to see for herself. Since I only have 292 characters left for this review, I'll skip over the story about being reprimanded for pouring included breakfast buffet cereal into my bowl the "wrong way" and elaborate on the attitude of the bald man who accused me of trying to steal $12 (taxes) bc I assumed there was a CC on file.
