“Quality hotel in Bern”

If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel and don't mind being a 5 minute tram ride outside of Old Town, the Waldhorn is a good choice. Like most Swiss hotels, the room was clean and small, but not cramped. The breakfast bar had the usual fare -- bread, cheese, cereal/granola, hard boiled eggs, and deli meats. I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel as there is much to do in Bern (including the rose garden and bears, which are within a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel). However, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of light and hot water.

“One night in Bern - Excellent”

I stayed in this hotel just for one night, in a single room. The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is true rooms are not that big; however, you have everything you need to enjoy your staying: WiFi connection free of charge, a 120cm wide bed, generous and rich breakfast, flat-screen TV. The hotel staff are really kind and efficient; for instance, they let me check in at 10.00 in the morning, although the official check-in time was at 14.00. There were no problems whatsoever with the payment (they just used the sum whcih had been previously been reserved as a warranty on my credit card). Finally, the hotel is in a quite place, just 6 minutes of tram away from the railway station (tram 9 goes there, and the stop is less than 200m from the hotel entrance); still, the hotel manages to be in a peaceful area, as the street is a parallel of the main one, so it's not noisy at all. To sum up: I'm really satisfied with my staying, and taking into account the average Swiss prices, this was not definitely too expensive.

“Quiet location across the bridge”

This hotel was about a 20 minute walk from the train station. As we were travelling with backpacks, it wasn't the most central location. However, the neighborhood was quiet and safe. The hotel was also easily accessible from the tram network that runs through Bern. While the room was a little too small to be called "comfortable" it was a reasonable price, clean, and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was adequate, with yogurt, bread, cereal, juice, and fresh fruit. We spend more time exploring the cities we are visiting than resting in our room. The Waldhorn was a good hotel that fit this purpose. Our room did not have air conditioning, and it was warm out. In all, it was a reasonable price, clean, and a good base for exploring Bern from a quiet neighborhood.
