“Decent Hotel in Bern”

I stayed three nights at the Hotel Arabelle in Bern. It was fairly easy to get to from the main train station -- about a three minute bus ride. For Bern, it was a cheap hotel, which I thought was reasonable for the accommodations. The staff was very friendly and spoke fluent-enough English to complete the transaction. My room (a single) was cozy but aging. The shower was extremely small by American standards, but the water pressure was amazing and there was plenty of hot water. If you don't want to pay for wireless access (I think 5 CHF for 30 minutes and 15 CHF for 3 hours), you can use the guest computer near the front desk - just make sure you log out after you're done to wipe your data. The free breakfast was plentiful and pretty good - fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, bread, cereal, cheese and coffee/espresso. I made sure to stock up for the rest of the day - food in Bern is relatively expensive (cheaper if you take food to go). Overall, I thought it was a decent hotel to stay in for a traveler aiming to spend more time in the city than in the hotel. I would stay there again.

“Noisey Bells near Arabelle”

Our September stay was poorly timed---the exterior was undergoing renovations. At 0730h daily workmen were on staging outside our window. Also the first room we were given had no door on the bathroom. Loud churchbells rang hourly thru the night and were annoying at best. Location and breakfasts were very good.

“Good if you are on a budget”

We stayed for three nights and overall it was OK if you are on a budget. There is still construction going on and the workers started at 7:00 am. The walk to and from the train station is about 20 minutes but if you want to walk to save money on a taxi, it can be done. The staff was helpful and they all spoke English.

L'hotel è pulito, le camere confortevoli e moderne, il personale decisamente cortese. Il centro è a pochi minuti a piedi e il prezzo è accettabile per lo standard svizzero.

Bon hôtel. Apparemment un peu éloigné -à pied- du centre, mais il existe beaucoup de raccourcis à travers un quartier résidentiel agréable conduisant aux ascenseurs de la gare.

accueil très sympathique,chambre en 2ème corps de batiment,calme et spacieuse,petit déjeuner simple mais complet et à volonté...en résumé,ravie de notre séjour!!!

Das Hotel liegt im Zentrum von Bern. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und der Bahnhof sind zu Fuß zu erreichen.

“Einfaches, aber auch preiswertes Hotel.”

Lage OK, 10 Minuten zu Fuss vom Bahnhof. Auf halben Weg liegen nette Kneipen. Zimmer (EZ) eher schlicht, abr für den Preis akzeptabel. Frühstück in Ordnung, heller freundlicher Raum. Das der Zimmerservice um 9 Uhr penetrant an die Tür klopfte war ein bisschen störend. Unterm Strick OK.

“Un excellent 2 etoiles”

Très positivement surpris qu'un 2 étoiles est si bien. Chambre très confortable, petit-déjeuner très bien aussi et tout ça à 5 mins de la gare/centre ville.
