“Great value in the off season”
A beautiful hotel and grounds in the best beach part of the island. Convienient access to shuttles and ferries (and scooter rental) but not near any of the bigger towns so good place to beach and golf and be "away from it all". A little more effort and time is needed to get to the bigger towns on the island. For a few days, the hotel restaurants (which are great) will sufice but a week or more stay, definitely plan to get out and about to the other areas of the island.
“Excellent service friendly staff”
We really enjoyed our stay! The staff were so helpful and friendly - that helped to make our holiday! Lovely par 3 Eighteen hole golf course! We were upgraded and had a very good room. I would recommend the hotel to anyone. David and Danuta
“bermuda rocks”
Pleasantly surprised with the room and amenities of the hotel. Beautiful beach and very helpful staff. Restaurants were really good, a bit pricey but what isn't in Bermuda
“Couldn't have been better!”
My husband and I had not been on a vacation together since our kids were born -- 13 years ago. As you can imagine, we were really looking forward to it and had high expectations for our getaway. Well, our four night vacation was absolutely perfect! The hotel was beautiful, the room was beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. We had a room on the "Gold" floor, which was very worth the extra money. A delicious breakfast was served every morning, followed by tea in the afternoon, appetizers in the early evening and dessert at night. We swam and snorkeled in the ocean every day, which was amazing. We never felt the need to leave the resort. Recommend it highly!
“Peace and quiet”
My husband and I have been to Bermuda many times but this was our first time staying at the Southampton Princess. Our room was upgraded, the food was excellent and transportation was very easy. We expecially enjoyed Karleen the consierge who was in charge of our travel / golf around the island. She took excellent care of us and my husband went to see her every morning to report in on the previous days events. She gave him a hug and a kiss goodbye and he loved it. We will definately come back to the Southampton Princess to be spoiled once again... Marsha W (Wellesley, Ma.)
“Not impressed. Seems snobby. Never felt comfortable walking around in casual clothes.”
Restaurants always made it seem like formal dress was needed.
“Worth the stay”
This is my first time in Bermuda and what a wonderful place! Hotel in Southampton is a little dated (compared to the Princess in Hamilton) but very nice and a better location. I thought not being on the beach would be a problem but with the shuttle service being so convenient I soon began to look forward to the quick ride to the beach and ferry. We had a minor problem with the way the general manager handled my questions on the first day when I didn't get my requested room but the rest of the staff was amazingly accommodating and friendly. The Faimont room was nice and more spacious than a standard room (worth the upgrade) but had a stale odor (I think from the leaking A/C vent). The hotel is perfect for both golfers (on a gorgeous Par 3 course) and beach lovers with the hotel's private beach and a public beach (with Horseshoe Cove) next door at your disposal. The hotel also has a very nice heated outdoor pool (indoor one too for an additional fee) and fully equipped fitness center (minor fee too but worth it). The Spa center is very nice but quite expensive. Restaurants at the hotel although pricey were fantastic and had to pick which was best. Excursions to Hamilton, Dockyards, St George's, etc. are very accessible via the free hotel ferry, local bus or taxi. I will definitely stay here again next trip.
“25 years and we had double beds”
When we booked with Expedia we asked for a king size bed. Went to Bermuday with 14 friends who we recruited to attend and none of us received a king size bed. Going away with my husband to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary and we walked in to two full beds. Manager was very unaccomidating. Very dissappointed.
“Beautiful water view”
Had a beautiful weekend. Hotel is in great location. Concierge always very helpful. Front desk service was very Gracious as well as the doormen. Can't wait to come back next year.
“Wonderful stay for wonderful trip!”
Very satisfied: the hotel was very beautiful (only room service was a little disappointing), perfect for our needs. It was very simple going around the island because the bus stop is near the hotel and the bus service was very efficient. The hotel was on the top, but it had shuttles that carried you to the beach or to the bus stop.
