“Will come again”

Absolutely worth the upgrade to the Gold level. As mentioned by others, The concierge was superb, helpful and knowledgeable. We loved our room which had a side view of the water. It was remodeled, a kind of chic resort British feeling. We really enjoyed ferrying over (included) to the Southhampton property and enjoying afternoon tea and taking the trolley down to their private beach. You can enjoy the ammenities at both properties with the Gold level upgrade (buffet breakfast, afternoon tea/soft drinks, and evening appetizers). The staff was very friendly and kindness unsurpassed. Many of them (on the Gold lounge level) have worked their for many years. The managers were outstanding - Andre & Peter. Khalid, Azrah & Michelle were very helpful. We definitely will return one day.

“Customer Focused Service”

This was our first trip to Bermuda and we loved it. The hotel is located a few blocks ( 10 minute walk) from the shopping and Ferry area. The hotel staff was exceptional. We were impressed with the Concierge and her knowledge and honestly of attractions and restaraunts. It was my birthday and when returning to our room on the afternoon of my birthday a chocolate cake was in the room. On our last day we ordered lunch via room service before grabbing our airport transport and the room service employee noticed my wife had a cold. He offered to bring up some hot tea and my wife declined and 10 minutes later he was at the door with a bowl of hot soup. This is really unexpected service and one of the things we will not forget about the hotel. They have transportation throughout the day to their private beach which is next to Horseshow Bay which is also a beautiful beach. The grounds and pools are nice as well. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hamilton Princess.

Area recommendations
The downtown shopping area is nice and easy to get to. We spent time at the Dockyard on a helmet and jetski tour.Horseshoe Bay and Elbow Beach are beautiful. We recommend getting a transportation pass that allows unlimited Ferry and Bus access as the taxis are pricey.

“Beautiful place, inferior service”

We loved visiting Bermuda. Beautiful place. The hotel is in a great location and very pretty. I enjoyed reading about its history. However, all gratuities are already added to your bills at restaurants, etc. so the staff didn't seem to care whether they got it right or not. We waited forever for service and then more than once had to go find someone to get drink refills, etc. Once, we were brought something other than what we ordered, twice we asked for more to drink and they never came back. The room was nice but the bathroom counter was dirty, the tile was black with dirt except around a few spots where you could see it was actually white grout. The shower curtain was mildewed. With a bit of effort on the part of the staff this could be a fantastic place but we were disappointed. The only thing we could figure was that they already got their tips so they didn't care. However, it is a truly beautiful place. I would go again but likely stay elsewhere, sadly. Also, at check-in, they gave us no information saying they were busy. We didn't even know which direction to go to find our room. Luckily, a nice employee did find us wandering the wrong area and took us to our floor.

Area recommendations
The snorkeling trip aboard the Sally Boom Boom was incredible. Captain Leon does an amazing job of telling about the islands, history, etc. The trip back to the hotel was filled with singing and instruments and everyone abouard seemed to be having a wonderful time. I would definitely do this trip again.

“Exceptional stay at Fairmount Hamilton”

We enjoyed our five night stay at the Fairmount Hamilton and the hotel service was extremely satisfying. The breakfast buffet each morning was an excellent way to start the day. The ferry to the Fairmount in South Hampton was very nice and we enjoyed the privacy beach there. The visit to the Crystal and Fanancy caves was quite a pleasant experience and we enjoyed lunch at the Swizzle Inn which was in close walking distance from the cave. We also enjoyed the short ferry ride to the Royal Navy Dock yard and museum and had a nice lunch. Take the museum tour as it is well worth the cost of admission. Overall, I would highly recommend the Fairmount Hamilton to anyone wishing for an outstanding visit to Bermuda. Thanks, Tom and Mary Ellen

“The Good and the Bad”

I understand why there is such a wide range of reviews for this hotel. The Good is its located close to Hamilton and all of the restaurants and shops. The Bad is it has no beach and you must travel 30 min by Ferry and Bus to the sister hotel to use their beach. The Good is its a old world classic hotel that's attractive in its decor. The Bad is its a renovated hotel which has blemishes newer hotels dont have like peeling wall paper and painted over baseboards. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. The Bad is the refrigerator listed in the amenities is not available for all rooms. We did not get one. The Good is Bermuda is beautiful, a hour and half flight from NY, its residents have a higher standard of living than other islands so no solicitations, its safe at night and a place to relax. The Bad is very expensive (supplement restaurant eating w/supermarket food purchases) and quiet at night (not a partying location) We enjoyed our trip although we were expecting the pink beaches to actually be pink and not a pink hue. Might return except Islands in the carribean provide more bang for the buck.

Dining
Eat at Lobster Pot. Rock fish and fish chowder were a highlight of our trip.

“Great Hamilton Location”

We took a long time deciding what part of Bermuda we wanted to stay in. We made an excellent decision in staying at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess. It was a great central location to our activities and it was so convenient that we could hop on the ferry over to the other Fairmont hotel where we could use the beach and other facilities. Don't hesitate to stay here! The staff is friendly (often offering to take our picture), and the activites are fun (think aquatic Zumba). I look forward to going back again in the future!

“Very convenient in Hamilton”

The weather was great and the hotel was very nice. Staying on the "Gold", concierge level was a great value with a great breakfast every morning and soft drinks available all day. The concierge at that level was far more helpful than that of the general hotel. They were not helpful at all. The bed may have been one of the most comfortable in which I've ever slept! The location is very convenient, being just out of down town Hamilton.

Area recommendations
The hotel features both fresh and salt water pools but the ferry ride to Southhampton and the beaches there are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen!
