“Excellent Hotel. Will definately stay again”

This hotel was fantanstic. It was in a great location, not far from the Zoological Garden train/bus station but for those who like walking as we did it wasn't too bad either. We were upgraded to an executive room for no extra charge and had housekeeping twice a day, a nice touch was a card every night with the following days weather forecast and temperature. The pool and sauna were great, bath robes, slippers and towels were supplied and you just used your room key to gain access to it. The staff were very friendly polite and extremely helpful.

Area recommendations

There is so much to see and do in Berlin. The Brandenburg Gate is a must see, you can stroll down Unter Den Linden from there were the shops and coffee bars are lovely (expensive though so be careful) Checkpoint Charlie is still there and you can even get your passport stamped with all 7 stamps which is great. The TV Tower has spectacular views across the city and has a nice bar to sit and relax at while looking out across Berlin. Museums, holocaust and war memorials are well worth a visit, and the Berliner Dom was beautiful. If going to the cupola at the Reichstag make sure you book it online before you go as you need passport clearance to enter, we didn't know this but luckily the hotel were able to do it for us, it is free but takes a few days to process. The Victory Column is well worth visiting as it has recently been renovated and you can climb up the spiral staircase to the top and get a great view of The Brandenburg Gate.

When to go

If you don't mind wrapping up warm November/December is a great time to visit as the Christmas Markets are all around.

“Very Impressed”

This hotel was excellent. Staff we very helpful and friendly. We used the restaurant which was excellent. In the evening we relaxed in the piano bar where they served up magnificent cocktails. Would definitely return to this hotel again.

“Good neighborhood and good price”

We made a family trip for 4 nights (my wife and my 8 year-old son). The hotel is well located and you can reach anywhere in Berlin in 20-30 minutes. If you can plan your trip two months in advance, it is a great price for this kind of hotel. The room was ok but we couldn't get internet acces inside the room. You should get out the room or go down to the lobby.

“Excellent value”

It's hard to fault this hotel on facilities, service and value. Rooms were very comfortable. Slightly compact, but well designed bedroom and bathroom with all mod cons you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Staff were very helpful. Free internet terminals and comfy bar with a good range of cocktails to tempt you.

“Excellent choice”

Bargain price on Expedia! Excellent location close to Ku'damm shops - Karstadt two minutes away, KaDeWe 10 minutes. Zoo buses and trains 10mins. Pool, free bikes, housekeeping twice a day!

Area recommendations

Postdammer Platz, Alexander Platz, East Side Gallery. Well, the whole of Berlin, really!

“Great Value!”

The hotel was a great value, especially since the Swissotel and Concorde Berlin were down the street for a lot more. It is in a great location behind the main streets but close enough to them. I thought the front desk staff were friendly and they spoke english. They even had the room ready on a very early check-in, which is unusual for European hotels. I would definitely stay there when I return.

Getting around

The city has several hop-on/hop-off buses, which is a great way to see the core part of the city. The buses and U-Bahn were also easy to use.

“Would stay here again”

Nice hotel with relaxing bar, friendly staff and a comfortable room. The only downside to the room was that instead of a king size duvet we had 2 singles. The bed was extremely comfy though. The bathroom was nice and clean but for a 5* hotel it looked a bit standard, not very luxurious (especially as we were staying in one of the executive rooms on the top floor). It was a nice place to come back to after spending all day walking and looking at the sights of Berlin. Located very close to the zoo and a main railway station, the hotel was also convenient if you wanted to do some shopping. The hotel itself is very quiet and away from the noise of the local traffic. The underground system in Berlin is fantastic and the main sights are only a short train ride away, to get to Brandenburg gate and the Reichstag it was about a 15 minute journey. I would recommend this hotel to people and would consider staying here again.

Area recommendations

Potsdammer Platz is a really good place to go if you want to find some nice bars and restaurants. It's a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate so perfect to end a day of sightseeing. Zoologishergarten has a lot of shops and restaurants, including Hard Rock cafe. If in the area the zoo is a must. You can't visit Berlin without seeing the Zoo.

Getting around

Use the U-Bahn, fast reliable service for getting pretty much anywhere in Berlin. Even when a bus replacement service was in place it was easy to navigate. Book a walking tour to see the top sights and get advice on other places to go whilst in Berlin. There are free walking tours, although a well deserved donation should be given

Brandenburg Gate Holocaust Museum and memorial Berlin Wall (Niederkirchner road). Sony Centre, Potsdammer Platz Meilenwerk (if you like cars you should definitely check this place out)

“First Rate Deluxe Hotel”

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past. It does not disappoint. The rooms, service etc are deluxe. Do not miss the buffet breakfast which is expensive and worth every penny
